Yield Enhancement Process Engineer m/f/d
Job Description

Change the world. Love your job.
We can't predict what the future holds, but we know Texas Instruments will have a part in shaping it.
Texas Instruments is seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our team supporting one of our clean rooms. This engineer will be an invaluable part of the yield enhancement team, interfacing and communicating with engineering and manufacturing groups across the fab to ensure all issues are solved appropriately and efficiently. Additionally, you will provide process and product support to the organization and address production concerns and disposition of production material.

As a Yield Enhancement (YE) Engineer you are responsible for all aspects of daily defect monitoring and line control in FFAB's semiconductor manufacturing environment. Your primary responsibility will be investigating root cause for out-of-control production material, new defect types, and abnormal spatial signatures. As such, you will be required to create, modify, and optimize inspection recipes. You must react to baseline shifts and defect excursions with a sense of urgency and partner with fab engineering to contain, understand, and resolve any problem that may arise. There will be opportunities to lead, influence, and support teams associated with defect-density reduction, defect excursions, and high-impact quality events.

You are required to spend time in the Fab on a daily basis, working closely with the shift process engineering assistants to resolve inline defect issues and communicate findings to the engineering community through daily interaction with equipment, process, and product engineering counterparts. You must identify high-impact defect reduction opportunities and partner with fab engineering to implement corrective actions. Presenting defect reduction project updates to upper management is essential. You will need to create or update documentation (defect classification guide, disposition specs, etc.) on a regular basis.
Responsibilities include:

  • Daily review of all defect outliers within area of responsibility
  • Identify root cause for re-occurring and yield relevant defect issues
  • Close cooperation with process and equipment engineering to drive continuous defect improvement programs
  • Analyze, evaluate and present engineering data to support process changes and resolve tool issues
  • Identify improvement potential regarding quality, cost savings and throughput within a 24/7 manufacturing environment
  • Create and maintain documentation for disposition of defect outliers (problem description, disposition specs, classification guidelines,…)
  • Support multidisciplinary teams on site but also worldwide level and build collaborative relationships
Qualifications
  • Master degree or similar educational level in Physics, Microelectronics, Microsystems technology, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or similar fields
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in German and English - B2 level or better
  • Strong foundation in statistical process control, engineering change control and process release strategies
  • Good interpersonal skills are required

Preferred qualifications:

Successful candidates must demonstrate the following characteristics:

  • Ability to identify, multi-task, and resolve multiple priority issues quickly and efficiently to improve overall fab performance
  • Ability to learn and understand process flow quickly, and support the engineering organization as needed
  • Decision-making capabilities and the ability to prioritize tasks and adapt accordingly
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Proficient with MS Office, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as demonstrated interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
  • Ability to take the initiative and drive for results
  • Strong presentation and time management skills
