Almedia in Berlin is seeking a hands-on VP of Engineering to own engineering end-to-end, report to our CTO, and shape a lean, AI-driven team that ships with high quality and reliability.

You will partner with product and design to turn ideas into experiments and successful releases, build an AI-native workflow, and scale the leadership bench while connecting engineering decisions to business outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• Hands-on leader with strong TypeScript skills and code review experience.
• Experience scaling engineering organisations and building high-performance teams.
• Leadership of Frontend, Backend and Reliability domains; ability to design operating models.

Your Mission

• Partner with the executive team, Product, and Design to turn ideas into experiments and successful releases.

• Make AI-native workflows the default, cutting the time from hypothesis to live experiment to decision, so more experiments reach customers without more defects.

• Build a QA function that prevents defects and keeps the site reliably up, with the authority to surface release risk early.

• Build the leadership bench and engineering culture that let the org keep compounding.

• Hands‑on leader, strong in TypeScript, who writes and reviews code. This is how everyone operates here, starting with our CTO.

• Already rethought how a team works with AI and shipped faster because of it.

• Scaled engineering organisations through significant business growth, developing engineering managers.

• Led Frontend, Backend, and Reliability functions, and know how to design the operating model that lets them move together at speed.

• Know how to connect engineering decisions to business outcomes, not just delivery metrics.
