Qualifikationen

• Sailing experience as engineer at management level or equivalent, with tanker exposure.
• Technical Superintendent / Vessel Manager experience in ship management, preferably tankers.
• Strong knowledge of SIRE 2.0, PSC requirements, ISGOTT and OCIMF tanker standards.
• Experience preparing vessels for SIRE, PSC, Class, Flag and terminal/charterer inspections.
• Good knowledge of IMO, Flag State, Class and tanker industry requirements.
• Understanding of tanker cargo operations and safety-critical equipment.
• Experience in defect management and follow-up of inspection findings.
• Demonstrated intercultural competence in diverse teams.
• Fluent written and spoken English.
• Proficient with MS Office and ship-management/PMS systems.

Aufgaben

As a Vessel Manager, you are responsible for the safe, reliable and compliant technical management of an assigned part of our tanker fleet.

Your duties include:

• Planning and monitoring of maintenance, repairs and dry docking of our vessels
• Monitoring of class survey intervals and coordination of service providers
• Monitoring the validity of statutory and class certificates
• Ensuring technical readiness of vessels for PSC, Flag, Class, SIRE and terminal/charterer inspections
• Supporting preparation for and follow-up of SIRE 2.0 inspections, including closure of technical findings and recurring deficiencies
• Monitoring and follow-up of PSC deficiencies, observations and corrective actions
• Ensuring compliance with applicable tanker requirements and industry standards, including ISGOTT, OCIMF and TMSA requirements
• Inspection of planned maintenance work and technical condition of vessels
• Monitoring and maintaining critical tanker equipment and systems, including cargo, inert gas, tank venting, ESD and associated safety systems, as applicable
• Development and improvement of the Planned Maintenance System for new tonnage
• Carrying out physical inspections on own and foreign tonnage and ensuring effective follow-up of findings
• Monitoring technical performance, defects and recurring deficiencies and ensuring timely corrective action
• Budget planning and monitoring
• Pre-joining briefing of engineers
• Supporting incident investigations, root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions
• Monitoring technical and regulatory changes affecting the tanker fleet
• Reporting to the assigned Line Manager

Your profile:

• Sailing experience as engineer at management level, preferably on oil/product/chemical tankers, alternatively you have completed your studies preferably as an engineer in marine engineering or a comparable qualification
• Experience as a Technical Superintendent / Vessel Manager in a ship management company, preferably tanker ship management
• Good working knowledge of SIRE 2.0, PSC requirements, ISGOTT and OCIMF tanker standards
• Experience in preparing vessels for and supporting SIRE, PSC, Class, Flag and terminal/charterer inspections
• Good knowledge of applicable IMO, Flag State, Class and tanker industry requirements
• Understanding of tanker cargo operations and associated safety-critical equipment and systems
• Experience in defect management, corrective actions and follow-up of inspection findings
• Within the scope of your previous activities, you have already been able to demonstrate your distinct intercultural competence in dealing with a wide variety of nationalities
• Proficient knowledge of written and spoken English
• You are characterized by good work organisation and demonstrate strong team spirit, reliability, proactivity and loyalty
• Safe handling of the MS Office package and relevant ship-management/PMS systems

This position requires you to be available for emergency response, including outside normal working hours EU working entitlement is essential
