Merantix Capital is seeking an exceptional investor focused on its venture studio activities. You will identify, attract and invest in founders at the earliest stage, working closely with venture studio founders to validate ideas, sharpen positioning and turn early ideas into AI company concepts.

You will join a driven investment team to test assumptions, understand customer needs, and create compelling investment memos for the Investment Committee next week.

Merantix Capital is an early-stage AI investor and venture studio backing ambitious AI founders across Europe.

Our roots lie in the Merantix Venture Studio, where we have been supporting and building AI-native companies since 2016 - from idea validation and co-founder matching to first customers, team building and follow-on financing. We are looking for an exceptional individual to join Merantix Capital as an investor focused on our venture studio activities.

In this role, you will work as part of the Merantix investment team to identify, attract and invest in founders at the earliest stage - often before a company, product or team is fully formed. You will work closely with venture studio founders throughout the ideation and validation process, helping them test assumptions, understand customer needs, sharpen their positioning and turn early ideas into compelling AI company concepts.

A day in the life of an investor in the venture studio:

• 08:30 - 09:00 // Read news on the latest developments in AI, technology, startups and venture capital.
• 09:00 - 10:00 // Identify and source potential founders-in-residence through data platforms, LinkedIn, founder communities and your network.
• 10:00 - 12:00 // Founder calls!
• 12:00 - 13:00 // Lunch with an investor friend to exchange views on markets, emerging themes and deal flow.
• 13:00 - 14:00 // Spar with a founder-in-residence on customer feedback, positioning and go-to-market strategy.
• 14:00 - 15:00 // Work with a founder-in-residence on experiments to validate customer demand and accelerate early traction.
• 15:00 - 16:00 // Founder calls!
• 16:00 - 17:00 // Review a founder’s product strategy and discuss how AI can create a differentiated customer proposition.
• 17:00 - 18:00 // Write an investment memo for a founder-in-residence who is pre‑seed ready and prepare for her Investment Committee next week.
• 18:00 - 20:00 // Attend a VC dinner hosted by a growth‑stage fund.

Required:

• Several years of experience in startups, technology, venture capital, or another highly entrepreneurial environment.
• Strong understanding of how technology and AI can be translated into products and businesses.
• Experience evaluating or building new products, businesses or commercial propositions.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to quickly understand new markets, technologies and business models.

Strong plus:

• Experience investing in early‑stage technology companies, whether through VC, angel investing or venture building.
• Experience working closely with founders or early‑stage startup teams.
• Domain expertise in an area relevant to us, including but not limited to Industrial AI, Healthcare, Robotics or FinTech.
• Native German speaker.
• Established founder networks in the DACH region.
• Experience coaching or mentoring younger founders.

Personal profile:

• High tolerance for parallel context switching: you are comfortable moving from a discussion about a product or market to a founder interview or customer conversation within the same day.
• Intellectually honest: you tell founders the uncomfortable truths early instead of letting them learn them late and expensively.
• Strong product and commercial intuition: you can distinguish an interesting technology from a compelling business.
• Low ego: you are successful when the founders are successful - not when your idea wins.

You will work hands‑on with exceptional founders from the earliest idea stage through validation, launch and financing readiness, while benefiting from the broader Merantix ecosystem of founders, operators, industry partners, investors and AI experts.
