Job summary

Realyze Ventures Management GmbH in Cologne is offering an internship (m/f/d) in Venture Capital for dedicated interns willing to gain hands-on experience in startup and fund management. The role spans acquisition, deal administration, due diligence, and investor relations support.

Office presence in Cologne is preferred, with a three- to six-month commitment. You will contribute to templates, financial modeling exposure, and learn across the VC workflow while collaborating with investment

Qualifications

Intern (m/f/d) Venture Capital in Cologne

Cologne, Germany

We are currently looking for dedicated interns in Cologne to support our Venture Capital and Startup Management team. In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to participate in various aspects of the venture capital business and gain valuable experience in the startup industry.

Tasks

• Acquisition and selection of new start‑ups: You will help identify and acquire promising start‑ups that fit into our portfolio and support the pre‑qualification of our deal flow based on our defined requirements
• Startup and Deal Administration: You will assume responsibility for the administrative investment process, enter relevant startups into our database, ensure continuous documentation, track individual process steps, and work closely with our investment managers.
• Deal Due Diligence: You will take on subtasks in the due diligence process in close cooperation with the responsible investment managers
• Document Management: You will be involved in the creation of investment templates and other relevant documents in the decision‑making process and will support the team enormously
• Portfolio management and monitoring/reporting: You will help with the monitoring and reporting of our portfolio companies and gain insights into the collaboration with the startups
• Growth & More: You have the opportunity to gain initial experience in the preparation of financial modeling reviews and business cases, as well as various topics in fund management and investor relations, and develop further in various areas.

Qualification

• Passion for startups: You should have a strong interest in the startup scene and entrepreneurship and have already gained initial experience through an internship or student job at a VC‑funded startup or at a VC itself. Your goal should be to gain a foothold in the VC industry after your studies.
• Analytical skills & finance: The ability to analyze information and draw conclusions is crucial. A basic understanding of finance and business models is also advantageous.
• Independence: You work independently and show initiative. You are willing to go the extra mile and are willing to continuously learn and familiarize yourself with various areas of the VC business.
• Teamwork skills: You enjoy working in a team, communicate openly and transparently, have no problem standing up for your work results, and have already successfully demonstrated your ability to interact in a team in practice and gained initial experience.
• Communication skills/bilingualism: Very good written and oral communication skills in English and German are important to manage your daily tasks with us.
• Availability/Working hours: Full-time for at least 3 months, preferably for 6 months.
• Location: Cologne (office presence desired).
