VC Stack is seeking an intern to join their Stuttgart office in Q3 2025. The intern will be involved in deal sourcing, screening interviews with startup founders, and providing portfolio support. This role offers exposure to various startups and close collaboration with leading founders.

Applicants should ideally be studying a STEM subject or relevant degree, possess good German and English language skills, and have initial experience in the VC or startup ecosystem.

Mätch VC is a Stuttgart-based venture capital firm that finances well-known startups such as Black Forest Labs, Assemblio, and Blockbrain. Our goal is to build the next generation of global market leaders and promote technological solutions in the areas of industrial deep tech, sustainability, and enterprise software. With investments of up to €1 million in the (pre-)seed phase, we provide founders with the foundation to realize their visions. Over the past 12 months, we have co-invested with 468 Capital, Andreessen Horowitz aka a16z, Mario Götze, General Catalyst, LEA Partners, and many other top investors.

Tasks

• Deal sourcing from promising early‑stage startups: search for promising spin‑offs and newly founded startups, talk to colleagues at NXTGN, and conduct trend, market, and competitive analyses.
• Independently conduct initial screening interviews with startup founders: each time, you will learn about new technologies, business models, and markets and face the exciting task of evaluating them.
• Occasionally conduct in‑depth analysis of the companies, and the results will ultimately be presented to our Investment Committee. You’ll be involved throughout.
• Other responsibilities include event management, operations, investor reporting, preparation of presentations, desk research, CRM, and related tasks that vary by month and quarter.
• Provide portfolio support and work closely with our founders, giving you insight into several, often very different, startups.
• Explore topics that you encounter daily at Mätch VC in your free time: reports, books, tutorials, and more, as you follow your passion and help us build the next generation Mittelstand in Europe. Interns have already played a decisive role in several of our investments.

Qualifications

• It’s best to study a STEM subject in your bachelor’s or master’s program. However, we’re also happy to talk to you if you’ve chosen business administration, economics, industrial engineering, or a comparable degree program.
• Ideally, initial experience through other relevant internships in VC, PE, management consulting, or startups.
• Very good knowledge of German and English.
• You are motivated, enjoy working independently and conscientiously, and enjoy implementing challenging projects.
• You are passionate about the startup and VC industry and incredibly curious.
