SE3 Labs is building Spatial AI and autonomous UAV systems for applications ranging from construction to defence. This role is a hands-on integration field engineer responsible for bringing advanced autonomous UAV systems into real-world operation, managing the full stack from hardware and sensors through autonomy software, field testing, and deployment.
What You'll Do
- Lead integration projects end-to-end: consult with partners, clarify requirements, establish interfaces and test criteria, and drive technical decisions through to a working system
- Perform cross-stack engineering: design integration concepts, create CAD models and electrical circuits, integrate sensors, compute, calibration, mechanisms, power electronics, controls, networking, autonomy software, and operator workflows
- Conduct validation and field testing: operate systems on test stands and in the field, identify design flaws and failure modes, and establish confidence in mission-readiness
- Debug complex system failures: separate symptoms from root causes, devise efficient debugging workflows, reproduce issues, and drive lasting solutions across hardware and software layers
- Install, configure, and support SE3 systems at test ranges, customer sites, partner demonstrations, and real-world deployments; represent SE3 with technical credibility in the field
What You Need
- B.Sc., M.Sc., or equivalent degree in Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Mechatronics, or related field
- Multiple years of hands-on experience integrating, testing, operating, and troubleshooting complex robotic, UAV, embedded, automotive, industrial automation, or defence systems
- Proficiency in CAD software, wiring diagram creation, electromechanical prototyping, and test campaign design and execution
- Hands-on lab and field skills including soldering, crimping, multimeters, oscilloscopes, serial consoles; basic experience with command line, data analysis tools, and Linux usage
- Ability to work proactively under field-campaign constraints, willingness to travel and deploy across Europe, and fluent English; valid driving license required
Nice to Have
- Specific knowledge in UAVs, PX4, ArduPilot, QGroundControl, Mission Planner, MAVLink, flight log analysis, mission planning, and airspace coordination
- Proficiency in PCBA and electronics circuit design targeting high-speed data interfaces and sensors
- Development experience with ROS2, Docker, Linux, edge compute devices, C++/Python, Bash, Git, or deployment automation
- Experience with networking and radio systems including WiFi, LTE/5G modems, VPNs, telemetry links, antenna placement, RF interference, and tactical communication links
- Skills in sensor calibration, image processing, mission autonomy, and interpretation of sensor data, flight logs, and frequency-domain analysis
- German language proficiency; experience with environmental testing such as vibration, thermal, ingress protection, or EMI/EMC; experience creating acceptance tests, runbooks, and field-support processes
