MB Energy is seeking a Treasury Manager – Trade Finance & Structuring in Hamburg. You will optimize financing, structure trade flows, and work with Banking partners to improve liquidity and cost efficiency across a global trading footprint.

The role requires 5+ years in trade finance, strong knowledge of L/Cs, and fluency in German with advanced English. Hybrid work with remote options and a competitive package are offered.

Here’s what you can look forward to

As Treasury Manager (m/f/d) for Trade Finance & Structuring, you are an important interface between the Business, Treasury Risk & Operations, Corporate Finance & Creditor Relations, Accounting, and Risk and play a key role in structuring our Trade and cash flow across our global business. Within the Treasury Team, you actively contribute to the optimization of financing and working capital structures in a highly dynamic energy trading environment. In your role, you combine financial expertise with commercial understanding and work closely with operational teams to improve trade flows, optimize utilization of credit facilities, and increase process transparency. You challenge existing ways of working, drive automation initiatives, and support the business in making financially efficient decisions across the trading lifecycle. You report directly to the Head of Treasury.

Your tasks in a nutshell

• Manage relationships: You partner with banks and financial institutions and support negotiations on financing terms, credit facilities and other trade finance requirements.
• Trade Finance Execution: You support the execution of trade finance activities related to global trading transactions, including letters of credit, bank guarantees and other trade finance instruments.
• Optimize working capital: You support Trading and the working capital management Team to identify optimization opportunities across the operational business and all kind of financial instruments.
• Manage liquidity & collateral: You oversee collateral usage across exchanges and bilateral agreements and support the optimization of liquidity and funding costs.
• Ensure Accuracy: You calculate and monitor trade finance and financing costs and communicate estimated and final costs to relevant internal teams.
• Drive transparency: You implement KPIs, dashboards, and reporting structures to improve visibility and performance tracking across the business.
• Improve processes: You drive automation and digitalization initiatives to increase efficiency, transparency, and scalability of the Trade Finance and Structuring Team.
• Partner with internal stakeholders: You collaborate closely with Sales, Trading, operational Team, Treasury Risk & Operations and Corporate Finance & Creditor Relations Colleagues, Risk, Accounting, and IT teams and support commercial decision‑making with a strong focus on cash flow and working capital efficiency.
• Calculate and monitor trade finance and financing costs and communicate estimated and final costs to relevant internal teams.

What helps you to fulfil this role

• Professional experience: minimum 5+ years of experience in Trade Finance & Structuring, or comparable functions within banking, energy trading, commodities, or similarly complex environments.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of trading lifecycles, credit facility agreements, bank relationships, commodity exchanges and collateral management, liquidity drivers, and working capital structures within commercial businesses.
• Practical expertise: Practical knowledge of trade finance operations, including Letters of Credit (L/Cs) and various payment methods combined with good understanding of international trade practices and trade finance processes.
• Systems affinity: Familiarity with ETRM, Treasury Management System, and ERP systems as well as strong Excel and data analytics skills; experience with BI tools is an advantage (Databricks and Power BI).
• Languages: Fluent German and advanced level of English, both written and spoken.
