Transfer Pricing Manager | Germany | Hybrid / Flexible Working
This opportunity is with a highly regarded mid‑sized tax advisory firm to appoint an experienced Transfer Pricing Manager into its growing International Tax & Transfer Pricing team.
This is an opportunity to work directly with a Managing Director known for high‑profile cross‑border cases, take ownership of complex mandates, and help build a differentiated TP offering in the German mid‑market.
The firm supports clients with the design and optimisation of transfer‑pricing systems, OECD‑compliant documentation, tax‑efficient restructurings and robust tax‑authority defence.
The Role
As Transfer Pricing Manager, you will lead engagements from scoping through to delivery, combining technical advisory work with project leadership and client relationship management:
- Manage transfer‑pricing documentation projects (Local Files, Master Files and related compliance) for German Mittelstand and upper‑mid‑market groups.
- Deliver functional, economic and benchmarking analyses across goods, services and financial transactions.
- Advise on transfer‑pricing policies, intercompany financing, reorganisations and operational implementation in close cooperation with international tax colleagues.
- Support tax audits and enquiries, preparing technical responses and joining discussions with tax authorities.
- Coordinate with an external benchmarking specialist and contribute to the gradual insourcing of TP analytics.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, quality and stakeholder expectations.
- Review the work of junior colleagues, providing day‑to‑day coaching and technical guidance.
- Build trusted client relationships and contribute to proposals, cross‑selling and wider business development.
Your Profile
- Several years of transfer‑pricing experience gained in professional services, tax advisory, in‑house tax or consulting.
- Solid technical knowledge of OECD transfer‑pricing principles and German / international documentation requirements.
- Hands‑on experience preparing and reviewing TP documentation, benchmarking studies and economic analyses.
- Comfortable dealing with complex, non‑standard cases and integrating TP with broader international tax topics.
- Commercially minded, with confidence explaining technical issues to clients and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrable experience managing projects and mentoring junior team members.
- Professional fluency in German and English.
A German tax adviser qualification (Steuerberater) is welcome but not essential.
