Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) invites applications for a tenure-track professorship in AI-driven Electronic Design Automation. The appointee will lead research on AI-EDA and system-level co-design, collaborating across KIT and with ConnAIX.
The role includes teaching 4–6 semester hours weekly in Computer Science bachelor’s and master’s programs and contributing to the interdisciplinary Chip Design program. Leadership of an ITEC unit is expected.
The design and development of complex electronic systems is expected to undergo a paradigm shift driven by artificial intelligence in the near future. Rapidly increasing system complexities, domain-specific requirements, and new integration and security constraints demand AI-driven methods for Electronic Design Automation (EDA) as well as EDA techniques for AI systems. At KIT, Division II with its Institute of Technical Informatics (ITEC) and the KIT-Department of Informatics address these strategically important issues —soon also in collaboration with the Baden-Württemberg Graduate Center „Applied Artificial Intelligence (ConnAIx)“— and on this basis is establishing a new professorship.
