GMV in Germany invites engineers and leaders to join as Technical Manager - Ground Segment for Satellite Constellations. You will define the technical vision of the Ground Segment and steer system architecture across the project lifecycle.

We seek graduates or professionals in Aerospace, Telecommunications, CS or Systems Engineering with strong MBSE knowledge, ability to lead multidisciplinary teams, and experience with complex software-intensive systems.

• Ensure that solutions meet customer requirements, performance objectives, and applicable industry standards.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, customers, partners, and engineering teams to align technical and project goals.
• Drive innovation while maintaining technical excellence, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Support the successful delivery of complex Ground Segment programmes from concept to deployment.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

As Technical Manager, you will be responsible for defining and maintaining the overall technical vision of the Ground Segment, ensuring consistency across all system elements throughout the project lifecycle.

Your main tasks will be:

• Lead the system architecture and define the technical direction for Ground Segment solutions.
• Coordinate technical activities across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Act as the technical authority throughout the project lifecycle.
• Manage technical risks, trade-offs, and engineering decisions to ensure successful project execution.
• Ensure that solutions meet customer requirements, performance objectives, and applicable industry standards.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, customers, partners, and engineering teams to align technical and project goals.
• Drive innovation while maintaining technical excellence, quality, and operational efficiency.
• Support the successful delivery of complex Ground Segment programmes from concept to deployment.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We are looking for graduates or experienced professionals in Aerospace Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related disciplines, with the following knowledge and experience:

• Strong background in Ground Segment or other complex software-intensive systems.
• Solid systems engineering skills and experience.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in challenging international programmes.
• Experience in negotiating technical solutions with internal and external stakeholders.

Valuable knowledge:

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE).
• Experience in one or more core Ground Segment subsystems, such as Mission Control Systems (MCS), Flight Dynamics Systems (FDS), Mission Planning Systems (MPS), or data processing pipelines.
