CES Consulting Engineers Salzgitter GmbH in Braunschweig, Germany, invites an experienced Team Leader / Expert on Communication Strategy with international experience to join an upcoming GIZ-funded project in the Caribbean. The role focuses on Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Communications across six projects in climate, biodiversity, and sustainable development.

You will advise senior stakeholders, develop visibility and content strategies, and lead a multidisciplinary team of five staff,

Qualifikationen

• University degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Development
• Proficiency in English-C2, German-C1, Spanish-B2
• At least 15 years in strategic communications, public information, media relations, digital communications and/or public affairs
• At least 5 years coordinating communication activities at executive Government/management level in multi-stakeholder environments
• At least 5 years developing/implementing communication strategies, visibility plans and content strategies in international cooperation
• At least 2 years linking communication and Monitoring & Evaluation in international cooperation
• At least 2 years producing and supervising communication products in international cooperation
• At least 5 years of combined management experience with 5 staff and with communications budget responsibility (EUR 100,000)
• At least 1 year of experience in one country outside Latin America and the Caribbean
• At least 5 years of experience in Latin America and the Caribbean, including 1 year in Eastern Caribbean
• At least 5 years of experience in development cooperation projects
• Experience in digital content management, social media strategy/analytics, web design/UX/UI, storytelling for development, data visualization, audiovisual supervision, workshop facilitation, capacity development

CES is looking for an experienced Team Leader / Expert on Communication Strategy with International Experience (f/m/d) for an upcoming GIZ-funded project in the Eastern Caribbean.

PROJECT AND JOB DESCRIPTION

The assignment will provide Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning and Communications support to a portfolio of six GIZ projects in the Caribbean. The projects address climate-sensitive circular economy, climate-resilient and sustainable energy, biodiversity conservation, blue economy development, green and blue skills, and the productive use of organic waste and sargassum. Activities are focused mainly on Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines, with regional cooperation through the Caribbean Community (CARICOM).

Requirements

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• University degree (e.g. ‘master’s or German Diplom’) in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Development
• Proficiency in English-C2, German-C1, Spanish-B2
• At least 15 years of professional experience in either or a combination of the following fields: strategic communications, public information, media relations, digital communications, and/or public affairs
• At least 5 years of professional experience in coordinating communication activities at executive Government and/or management level in multi-stakeholder environments
• At least 5 years of professional experience in either or a combination of the following fields: developing and implementing communication strategies, visibility plans, and content strategies within international cooperation (for multilateral or bilateral donor funded projects)
• At least 2 years of professional experience linking communication and Monitoring & Evaluation within international cooperation (for multilateral or bilateral donor funded projects)
• At least 2 years of professional experience producing and supervising communication products (print, digital, audiovisual, social media, web content, data visualization) within international cooperation
• At least 5 years of combined management experience with disciplinary leadership responsibility for 5 staff members in projects, companies, and/or organizations
• At least 5 years of management experience with communications budget responsibility (annual budget of EUR 100.000 Equivalent)
• At least 1 year of professional experience in one country outside Latin America and the Caribbean region
• At least 5 years of professional experience in Latin America and the Caribbean region of which 1 year in the Eastern Caribbean (OECS) region
• At least 5 years of experience in development cooperation projects
• Demonstrated experience in digital content management, social media strategy and analytics; web design, UX/UI, information architecture and SEO; and storytelling for development, data visualization, audiovisual supervision, workshop facilitation, and capacity development.
