Responsibilities
- You will lead a small, highly motivated payment team — both professionally and disciplinarily — and actively foster its development.
- You will play a key role in shaping our group-wide payment roadmap across all sales channels. From open banking and PSP strategy to softPOS solutions, you’ll drive innovative payment features from concept to launch.
- Through well‑founded business cases, you’ll identify opportunities, trends, and features that strategically advance DOUGLAS — data‑driven, visionary, and with a focus on what truly matters.
- You will prepare decision papers for top management, impress with clear analyses, and confidently present your recommendations at the executive level.
- As a central interface, you will act as a competent contact for internal and external stakeholders and as a sparring partner for your team — always keeping the big picture in mind.
- You will manage demanding international projects and ensure efficient implementation from planning to go‑live.
- You will manage our external partners and maximise strategic collaboration in negotiations — e.g. with PSPs, terminal providers, and card schemes.
- You will review existing reports and KPIs, develop new dashboards, and track the net benefit of our projects and operational activities — for example in active payment steering.
- You will identify measures to continuously improve our payment cost efficiency — and consistently implement them together with your team.
Qualifications
- Several years of experience in international payments, ideally in an omnichannel retail or fintech environment.
- Strong knowledge of current market developments and payment providers (e.g. A2A payments, mobile/soft POS, BNPL).
- Initial leadership experience is desirable but not mandatory.
- A degree in business, science, or computer science — or comparable training (a degree is not mandatory).
- An independent, structured way of working with the ability to maintain an overview, even in complex processes.
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with a high affinity for IT and process design.
- A true team player with excellent communication skills and a confident presence at all levels.
- Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint, especially in preparing management‑ready presentations.
- Very good command of English and good German skills.
