You will lead the team, own planning and inventory control, and drive ERP/SAP optimization and automation initiatives across Maintenance, Procurement, Operations, and Finance.

The role emphasizes cross-functional leadership, process improvement, and international collaboration to enhance VTG's supply chain performance and efficiency.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, SCM, Business Admin or Logistics.
• Several years of leadership in Materials Management, Logistics or SCM.
• Proven record of driving organizational and cultural change.
• Experience analyzing and optimizing end-to-end supply chain processes.
• Strong process and system affinity, with digitalization/automation exposure.
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP MM.
• Fluent German and English; strong stakeholder management.
• Willing to be physically located in Hamburg; willingness to travel in Europe.

Aufgaben

• Lead, motivate, and develop the Materials Management team.
• Design a Europe-wide material supply network with a 48-hour order-to-supply vision.
• Own material requirements, procurement planning, and inventory management.
• Identify and implement improvements across the end-to-end supply chain.
• Drive optimization and digitalization of ERP/SAP processes; implement automation.
• Develop and improve key supply chain performance indicators.
• Manage budgets, costs, and business performance.
• Manage supplier and service provider relationships.
• Sponsor cross-functional projects with stakeholders across Maintenance, Procurement, Operations, and Finance.
• Act as a change agent for VTG's Materials Management transformation.

What are your responsibilities?

• Lead, motivate, and develop the Materials Management team, both professionally and disciplinarily
• Design and continuously develop a Europe-wide material supply and distribution network with the vision of a 48-hour order-to-supply time across Europe
• Take ownership of material requirements planning, procurement planning, and inventory management to ensure an efficient and cost-effective material supply for the VTG freight wagon fleet
• Identify, evaluate, and implement process improvements across the end-to-end materials supply chain
• Drive the optimization and digitalization of ERP/SAP-supported planning and materials management processes, including the implementation of automation solutions
• Develop, establish, and continuously improve key supply chain and logistics performance indicators
• Manage budgets, costs, and business performance within your area of responsibility
• Manage supplier and service provider relationships and activities
• Sponsor cross-functional projects and work closely with stakeholders across Maintenance, Procurement, Operations, and Finance
• Act as a change agent for the transformation and future development of VTG's Materials Management function

What qualifications do you have?

• Degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a comparable field
• Several years of leadership experience in Materials Management, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management
• Demonstrated leadership experience and a track record of driving organizational and cultural change
• Proven experience in analyzing and optimizing end-to-end supply chain processes
• Strong process and system affinity, ideally with experience in digitalization and automation initiatives
• ERP knowledge, preferably SAP MM, is an advantage
• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills combined with a hands-on and entrepreneurial mindset
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across functions and countries
• Fluent in German and English
• Willingness to be physically located in Hamburg
• Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe
