YOUR MISSION:

• Lead & Scale (~7 Engineers): Drive, mentor, and grow our Applied AI & Platform Engineering team. Build a high-velocity culture rooted in ownership, accountability, and technical excellence.
• Bridge Vision to Execution: Partner closely with our Principal Engineer to turn high-level architectural visions into actionable roadmaps, clear sprint priorities, and flawless delivery.
• Accelerate Delivery: Relentlessly remove blockers, elevate engineering standards, and leverage our in-office days (Tuesday–Thursday in Hamburg) for high-bandwidth collaboration and fast alignment.
• Ship Applied AI at Scale: Drive production-level integration of cutting-edge AI (LLMs, AI agents, vector search) directly into our core scalable platform infrastructure.
• Smart Hands-On (10–20% Initially): Stay close to the tech. Bring a pragmatic, hands-on mindset early on for architecture spikes, code reviews, and technical guidance before transitioning fully to strategic leadership.

YOUR PROFILE:

• Proven Leadership: Track record of leading tech teams (as a Team Lead, Tech Lead, or Engineering Manager) within a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Execution & High Drive: A true "get-things-done" mindset. You operate with urgency, focus on business outcomes, and solve problems rather than managing processes.
• Tech Depth: Solid engineering background in Cloud Infrastructure (AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform) or DevOps, paired with a strong drive for Applied AI (LLMs, Vector Search).
• Smart Hands-On: Deep technical credibility to jump into architecture spikes or code reviews early on (10–20% initially), while knowing exactly when to delegate and scale.
• Strong Alignment: Exceptional ability to partner with senior tech stakeholders (like the Principal Engineer) and translate complex visions into team deliverables.
• Office Presence: Ability to thrive in a collaborative hybrid setup (in-office Tuesday–Thursday in Hamburg).
• Language: Professional fluency in English for our international setup.
