Zusammenfassung

SEG Automotive is seeking a talented engineer to advance electric drive systems within our Stuttgart team. You will shape the interaction between motor, inverter, transmission, and other components across the product lifecycle.

Ideal candidates hold a technical degree and have experience in automotive powertrains or electromobility, with strong analytical skills and fluent English; German is a plus. The role offers hybrid work, international collaboration, and a path for personal development.

Qualifikationen

• Successfully completed degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
• Experience in developing complex technical systems, ideally in automotive powertrains or electromobility.
• Structured, analytical, and independent approach with strong problem-solving skills.
• Very good command of English; German language skills are an advantage.

Aufgaben

• Develop electric drive systems at overall product level and shape interaction between motor, inverter, transmission, and other components.
• Analyze customer requirements, derive system requirements, and allocate them across subsystems.
• Assess system architectures for performance, efficiency, cost, packaging, thermal behavior, NVH, service life and safety.
• Coordinate mechanical, electrical and functional interfaces and support integration into the eDrive system.
• Develop alternative technical solutions, conduct system-level trade-off assessments and prepare concept decisions.
• Coordinate collaboration with internal departments, customers, suppliers, and development partners.

• You develop electric drive systems at overall product level and shape the interaction between the electric motor, inverter, transmission, and other components.
• You analyze customer requirements, derive system requirements, and ensure their consistent allocation across the relevant subsystems.
• You assess system architectures and technical concepts in terms of performance, efficiency, cost, packaging, thermal behavior, NVH, service life, and safety.
• You coordinate mechanical, electrical, and functional interfaces and support the integration of the subsystems into the complete eDrive system.
• You develop alternative technical solutions, conduct system-level trade-off assessments, and prepare well-founded concept decisions.
• You coordinate technical collaboration with internal specialist departments, customers, suppliers, and development partners.
• You support acquisition activities, root-cause analyses, verification and validation, as well as the development of methods and competencies in eDrive system development.

• Successfully completed degree in mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, mechatronics, electrical engineering, or a comparable field.
• Experience in developing complex technical systems, components, or functions, ideally in automotive powertrains or electromobility.

• Knowledge of or practical experience in transmission development or transmission design is desirable.
