System- und Softwareingenieur:in für Lokomotiven und Reisezugwagen

Then we invite you to start your career as a System- und Softwareingenieur:in for Locomotives and Passenger Train Coaches within the Design Authority Loco&Coach of Service Engineering at our Mannheim site. The role is responsible for product maintenance, analysis, and further development of existing locomotives and passenger train coaches. Leveraging a solid system understanding, solutions will be devised and implemented.

Hauptaufgaben

• Creation of requirement specifications
• Programming tasks for existing and new vehicle control systems (focus on high‑level languages) and IP‑based gateways
• Support for evidence and approval activities for modernised vehicles
• Execution / support of commissioning activities in the lab and on the vehicle
• Advising and supporting customers / suppliers on software topics
• Processing customer queries (creating effort estimates, technical briefings, …)
• Ensuring and updating documentation according to software changes
• Close collaboration with engineers of new‑build divisions

Ausbildung

• Completed degree in electrical engineering, electronics, information technology or computer science

Qualifizierungen

• Comprehensive knowledge in software engineering with a strong system understanding
• Good knowledge of programming languages/environments C/C++, Qt, HTML, IEC 61131 (desired)
• Experience using Linux operating system
• Knowledge in software quality management
• Professional experience in railway vehicle and system engineering, including normative knowledge (drive engineering, vehicle control)
• Fluent German and English
• Readiness to work in an open, diverse team
• Experience with Microsoft 365, DOORS
• Travel willingness
