Job summary

DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen sucht einen Systemingenieur für das Voice Communications System. Sie arbeiten eng mit der GroundOperations-Gruppe zusammen und entwickeln Konzepte für nahtlose Betriebsabläufe sowie Betrieb unterstützende Maßnahmen, insbesondere in CubeSat bis GEO Missionen.

Sie verfügen über ein abgeschlossenes Ingenieurstudium, langjährige Erfahrung in Raumfahrt oder Softwareentwicklung, sowie Kenntnisse von Linux-Systemen, TCP/IP, XML und modernen Kommunikationsprotokollen.

Qualifications

• Abgeschlossenes wissenschaftliches Hochschulstudium (Master/Diplom Uni) im Bereich Ingenieurwesen oder vergleichbar.
• Langjährige Berufserfahrung in Raumfahrt, Satellitendatenverarbeitung, Kommunikationsingenieurwesen oder Softwareentwicklung.
• Tiefes Fachwissen zu Datenbanktechnologie und Linux-Systemen.
• Kenntnisse relevanter Kommunikationsprotokolle, insbesondere TCP/IP sowie SOAP, SNMP, REST und XML-Technologien.
• Erfahrung in Softwareentwicklung und Netzüberwachungssystemen.
• Gutes Deutsch in Wort und Schrift; sehr gutes Englisch in Wort und Schrift.

Responsibilities

• Entwurf, Entwicklung und Systemmanagement des integrierten Managementsystems für die bodengekoppelte Raumfahrtsegment.
• Entwurf und Entwicklung von Bodenabschnitten für Satelliten-/Menschenraumfahrtprojekte, inkl. Projektmanagement.
• Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Partnern.

The Space Flight Operations and Astronaut Training Department is the central institution for German space activities – from satellite missions for Earth observation, communication and space security, through to manned spaceflight, high-altitude research and exploration. We also work on innovative technologies to ensure we can master even the most challenging space projects of the future.

What to expect

You will assume the central role of System Engineer for the Voice Communications System within the ground segment. In close collaboration with the "GroundOperations" group, whose operational and system technical responsibility encompasses the ground segment for satellite and astronautical spaceflight projects, the focus of the position is on the developing concepts for seamless operations, conducting routine operations, and supporting critical phases for the voice communication system. You will be integrated into a diverse project portfolio, which covers missions from CubeSats and LEO satellites to GEO and deep space emissions, as well as astronautical spaceflight and support for the LUNA analog facility.

Your tasks

• design, development and system management for Integrated Management System for human spaceflight ground segment
• design and development of ground segments for satellite and human spaceflight projects, including project management
• cooperation and coordination with national and international partners

Your profile

• completed scientific university degree (Master's/Diploma Uni) in engineering (for example in the fields of communications engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, systems engineering, physics) or other degree programmes relevant to the position
• many years of professional experience in the field of space technology, satellite data processing, communications engineering or software development
• in-depth specialised knowledge of database technology and Linux systems
• knowledge of relevant communication protocols, in particular TCP/IP and web technologies (SOAP, SNMP, REST, XML technologies)
• experience in software development and network monitoring systems
• good knowledge of German (written and spoken)
• very good knowledge of English (written and spoken)

Depending on qualifications and tasks assigned, remuneration will be up to pay group 14 TVöD Bund.
