System Administrator

Location: Bonn, Germany

1. Project / Department Overview

The IT Operations Management – Classified System Control Center (CSCC), part of Shared Service Delivery – Central Operations, is responsible for coordinating and delivering high-security IT services for military IT assignments.

2. Responsibilities and Scope of Work

Core Responsibilities (All Levels)

• Installation, configuration, commissioning, administration, and monitoring of IT and communication services infrastructure while adhering to strict security requirements.
• Respond to user inquiries regarding hardware, operating systems, applications, and network issues.
• Analyze fault reports, diagnose affected components, and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate records of service activities, incidents, and resolutions.
• Participate in 24/7 shift operations to ensure continuous monitoring and support of classified IT services.

Level-Specific Focus

• Operational execution: basic administration and monitoring; support in service‑specific projects; assist higher‑level admins.
• Partial responsibility in IT Operations Management: mentoring of junior staff; involvement in service‑specific projects; capacity and availability management; handling escalated incidents.
• Lead responsibilities in IT Operations Management: advanced monitoring and troubleshooting; strategic input for service optimization; knowledge transfer; coordination of complex projects and operational tasks.

3. Qualifications

Language Skills

• German: C1 level according to CEFR (unless native speaker). Proof required via CV or certificate.

Education & Professional Background

• Completed vocational training as IT Specialist for System Integration or IT Systems Electronics Technician. Proof via certificate, transcript, or diploma.

Technical Tools & Skills

• IT systems administration and monitoring

• Incident, change, and service request handling

4. Experience Requirements

• 2 years in 1st and/or 2nd level support; shift work experience.
• 2+ years operational experience, including monitoring and capacity management; shift work experience.
• 3+ years operational experience; advanced troubleshooting, project involvement, mentoring; shift work experience.
