Zusammenfassung

Qnity is seeking a Day shift Lead to supervise manufacturing operations in a fast-paced environment. You will coach teams, manage staffing, and align production plans with safety and quality standards on a continuous improvement journey.

This role requires 2+ years in industry, familiarity with Lean principles, and a strong focus on process safety. Weekend/evening coverage and flexible hours are expected. Qnity offers a comprehensive pay and benefits package.

Qualifikationen

  • 2+ years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, military, or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and operations.
  • Knowledge of process safety and personal safety principles.
  • Experience using digital tools and systems.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent

Aufgaben

  • Coaches, develops and provides performance feedback to team members to build capabilities and improve team effectiveness.
  • Plans shift activities and resources to optimize performance and communicates goals and outcomes to the team.
  • Manages staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production needs.
  • Monitors and controls shift costs (e.g., overtime, supplies).
  • Leads or participates in EHS & Quality investigations and takes corrective actions.
  • Documents and completes administrative requirements timely and efficiently.
  • Communicates site directives clearly to ensure work alignment.
  • Supports flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Production & Operations
  • Plans shift activities and resources to optimize performance in line with production goals; Communicates shift performance (safety, production, quality, etc.) goals, metrics and outcomes to team members; Builds an understanding of the team's contribution to the shift/site/business goals
  • Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear
  • Ensures work is completed per published schedule
  • Organizes and manages staffing levels to ensure adequate support for production needs
  • Monitors and makes adjustments to controllable costs for shift (i.e. overtime, operating supplies)
  • Completes Leader Standard Work practices, including frequent line walks
Continuous Improvement
  • Operates with Excellence by engaging team members to identify opportunities for continuous improvement, eliminate waste, remove barriers, and build a sense of ownership and pride
  • Facilitates team processes, including problem solving and issue resolution
Safety, Quality & Compliance
  • Leads or participates in EHS & Quality investigations and determines appropriate corrective action
  • Ensures employees comply with established Standard Operating Procedures
  • Knowledge of process safety and personal safety principles
Administration & Communication
  • Documents and completes administrative requirements timely and efficiently
  • Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear
Schedule Flexibility
  • Able to provide coverage on weekends, evenings, nights, and holidays as scheduled, on a regular basis; Able to work overtime as needed
Qualifications

Hours and Shift

This is a day shift leadership position supporting a continuous manufacturing operation. The First Line Leader is expected to maintain a regular presence on the production floor and will be required to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends, holidays, and overtime, to support business needs, production requirements, and employee development.
