Job summary

Magna International Limited is seeking a Subject Matter Expert – Assembly to lead optimization across our assembly lines in Germany. The role focuses on improving efficiency, quality, and tooling management within a heavy manufacturing context.

The ideal candidate holds mechanical/automotive engineering qualifications, with several years in automotive assembly, and demonstrates strong problem-solving and cross-functional leadership in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Degree or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field.
• Several years of experience in automotive assembly, manufacturing, or production engineering.
• Strong knowledge of assembly processes, tools, and automation technologies.
• Ability to analyze issues, implement solutions, and drive process improvements.
• Familiarity with CAD software and IATF 16949, ISO 9001 standards.

Responsibilities

• Process Optimization – Analyze, improve, and standardize assembly line processes to enhance efficiency and productivity
• Quality Assurance – Monitor and ensure compliance with automotive industry standards and internal quality requirements
• Technical Support – Assist production teams in troubleshooting and resolving assembly-related issues
• Tooling & Equipment Management – Oversee the selection, implementation, and maintenance of assembly tools and machinery
• Lean Manufacturing & Continuous Improvement – Apply Lean, Six Sigma, and other methodologies to reduce waste and improve workflow
