Zusammenfassung

BSBI seeks a Student Welfare Officer to promote wellbeing, personal development, and successful adjustment of international students through preventative mental health support, workshops, campaigns and group activities.

You will work with Student Engagement, Student Life and academic teams to identify needs, develop wellbeing initiatives, maintain confidential records, liaise with external providers, and help create an inclusive campus environment.

Qualifikationen

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or related field, or equivalent relevant qualification.
  • Previous professional experience in counselling, educational psychology, wellbeing, or a similar role.
  • Experience working with young adults and/or students, preferably in an international or multicultural environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Fluency in English, written and spoken.
  • Minimum A2 level in German, written and spoken (recommended).

Aufgaben

  • Promote student welfare through a preventative approach to mental health and wellbeing.
  • Provide short-term, focused counselling appointments for students experiencing personal, emotional, or adjustment-related concerns.
  • Design, deliver, and evaluate wellbeing workshops, awareness campaigns, and group activities.
  • Identify student wellbeing needs and develop targeted initiatives in response to emerging concerns.
  • Analyse student feedback, participation, and wellbeing data to evaluate initiatives and inform future programmes.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of student welfare activities and counselling appointments.
  • Work closely with the Student Life Team and academic teams to promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive student experience.
  • Liaise with external healthcare providers, local authorities, and relevant services when required.

Your Responsibilities

The Student Welfare Officer promotes the wellbeing, personal development, and successful adjustment of students throughout their studies. The role focuses on a preventative approach to mental health and wellbeing through individual support, workshops, campaigns, and group activities.

The Student Welfare Officer works closely with the Student Engagement, Student Life and academic teams to identify student needs, develop targeted wellbeing initiatives, and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive campus environment. The role requires empathy, professionalism, confidentiality, and cultural awareness when working with an international student community.

Your profile

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree level in Psychology, Counselling , Social Work or related field, or equivalent relevant qualification.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and manage multiple priorities.
