Zusammenfassung

Fraunhofer IPT in Aachen invites applications for a student assistant position to support the development of production systems for winding and laying thermoplastic tapes. You will assist in planning trials, run experiments, and gain insight into current research projects and industrial applications.

The role requires regular institute attendance in Aachen, with at least 12 hours per week and a start from February 2026. Collaboration within a dynamic team is expected.

Qualifikationen

• Currently enrolled in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable field.
• Basic knowledge of machine design and textile technology is an advantage.
• Basic programming knowledge (Python/MATLAB) is an advantage.
• Some experience with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
• Ability to work independently and in interdisciplinary teamwork.
• Good language skills in German and/or English.

As a student assistant you support our team with the development of systems and processes for winding and laying thermoplastic tapes and also gain insight into current research projects and industrial applications. In addition, you will assist in the preparation and execution of production trials.

The job requires regular attendance at our institute in Aachen. The weekly working time is at least 12 hours. The earliest start date is in February 2026.

What you contribute

• You are studying mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or a comparable subject
