Zusammenfassung

Max Planck Institute for Social Law and Social Policy in Munich seeks student assistants to support the PERGAP project. You will help build a database comparing social policies and public perceptions across Europe, code datasets, and perform descriptive analyses.

You will assist in literature reviews and contribute to empirical research outputs. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in social sciences, with experience in research and quantitative methods.

Qualifikationen

  • Ongoing Bachelor’s or Master’s studies in a social science-related discipline at a German university (preferably in Munich) with above-average academic achievements.
  • Knowledge of quantitative methods and data analysis (preferably with Stata) is an asset.
  • Reliable and detail-oriented, able to work both independently and in a team.
  • Good command of English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Insights into a large European research project.

The Department of Foreign and International Social Law is seeking applications for

Student Assistant Positions (m/f/d) in PERGAP Project
(min. 8 hours/week)

As a student assistant, you will support the development of a database for comparing social policies and public perceptions across Europe and beyond. You will also contribute to scientific output on topics such as public opinion on inequality, comparative social policy, and social stratification. Your tasks will primarily include collecting and coding datasets, performing descriptive analyses, researching data and literature and preparing literature reviews.

Ihr Profil

  • Ongoing Bachelor’s or Master’s studies in a social science-related discipline at a German university (preferably in Munich), with above-average academic achievements
  • Previous research experience as a student assistant in an academic environment
  • Knowledge of quantitative methods and data analysis (preferably with Stata) is an asset
  • Reliable and detail-oriented, able to work both independently and in a team
  • Good command of English; additional languages are a plus
  • A friendly, international, and diverse research environment
  • Insights into a large European research project
  • Hands-on experience that strengthens your empirical research skills
  • Excellent research facilities in the heart of Munich
