The Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) in Berlin is seeking student assistants to support literature, data analysis, interview transcription, and event preparation. The role is 10 hours per week and paid under TV Stud III at currently 15.08 EUR per hour.

The position starts as soon as possible and runs for 12 months with possible extension. Enrolled at a German university with at least two completed semesters, you will study political science, social science or economics,

Qualifikationen

• Interest in International Political Economy and Russia's political economy.
• Very good command of English and Russian; knowledge of Central Asian languages desirable.

The Centre for Eastern European and International Studies is seeking to hire

The Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS) is an independent, international, publicly funded research institute. It focuses on foundational and policy-relevant academic research on Eastern Europe and shares the results with policymakers, the media, and the broader public.

We are looking for support in the research cluster

• Literature, media and background research
• Support with data analysis (quantitative/qualitative)
• Support with the transcription of interviews
• Support in the preparation and implementation of events

Requirements:

• enrollment at a German university and at least two completed semesters
• studies in political science, social science or economics
• proficiency in Office software and knowledge of quantitative methods are required; experience with Python/R for data extraction and processing is desirable but not required
• interest in International Political Economy (especially regarding the role of the EU and China for economic development in Eastern Europe and Central Asia) as well as in Russia’s political economy and economic policy
• very good command of English and Russian; knowledge of Central Asian languages is desirable but not required
• independent, precise and reliable work

The working time is 10 hours per week, and remuneration is based on the Collective Agreement for Student Employees (TV Stud III) (currently 15.08 EUR per hour). The position is to be filled as soon as possible and is initially limited to 12 months, with the possibility of an extension thereafter.
