Gigs is building the operating system for mobile services and seeks a senior engineer to own internal platforms and drive AI-enabled engineering. You’ll shape how agents use AI, set platform standards, and mentor teams while delivering safe, scalable infrastructure.

You’ll work across cloud, CI/CD, observability, and data services, with a focus on enabling AI enablement throughout the company. Some remote work is possible in a hybrid setup.

Our Challenges

Our job is solid software engineering, not hype engineering. Carrier APIs differ a lot across countries, providers and regulatory regimes. Provisioning, porting, and eSIM lifecycle management happen in real-time with hard SLA requirements. Usage tracking, billing, and payments span multiple currencies and jurisdictions. Our systems need to be observable, operable, and resilient. When a carrier integration fails at 3am in a market far away, we need to know about it before the customer does.

Ours is a world where decades-old carrier protocols meet eSIMs, IoT, satellite connectivity, and the road to 6G. We are bridging that gap; making the old world programmable for the new one. We’re a platform company solving real, durable problems that don’t disappear when the hype cycle turns.

Our engineering team is doubling in 2026. In the next step of our journey, we’re building out a senior IC track, hiring multiple staff and principal engineers, because the challenges we’re solving today are only getting deeper. New markets, new connectivity paradigms, and an architecture that needs to carry us for years, not quarters.

The Team

Our Foundation team owns the platform every engineer at Gigs builds on: cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, observability, golden paths, and the shared services that keep our product running. That charter is expanding. We believe the next big improvement in how Gigs ships software comes from weaving AI into the platform itself. The same paved roads that make a deployment safe for an engineer make it safe for an agent. Foundation is where that convergence happens, and this role sits at the center of it.

Who You Are

You’ve built internal platforms before and know the difference between tooling engineers tolerate and tooling they'd fight to keep. We’re looking for someone with that foundation who is now focused on what comes next: where developer experience goes as agents take on more of the work, which investments in our platform pay off for years, and what an engineering org looks like when AI enablement is built in rather than bolted on. Someone who has gone deep enough on agentic development to have earned opinions, and who wants to turn those opinions into the systems and practices that shape how Gigs builds software.

What You Will Do

• Ship the platform yourself. Golden paths, CI/CD, developer environments, observability. Hands-on work that removes friction for every engineer, human or agent
• Take our AI enablement from experiments to infrastructure: agent-ready codebases and docs, shared context and skills, evaluation and telemetry, and the guardrails that let us delegate more work to agents with confidence
• Set the strategy and standards for how engineering at Gigs adopts AI, working closely with engineering leadership on what we standardize, what we measure, and where the next leverage point is
• Establish the patterns and practices teams adopt and keep, mentor engineers on platform and AI-assisted ways of working, and spread what works across the org
• Start with engineering, then think bigger. The platform and practices you build should extend to AI enablement across the whole company over time

What We Expect on Day 1 (and in the Interviews)

• A track record of building internal platforms or developer tooling that other teams adopted and kept. You treat the platform as a product and engineers as customers
• Deep, practical experience with agentic AI development. You've worked with LLMs well beyond code completion, understand context engineering and agentic patterns, and can tell the difference between a demo and a dependable workflow
• Strong infrastructure fundamentals: cloud platforms (GCP preferred), infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and the operational instincts to run what you build
• Experience driving adoption across teams without direct authority. You persuade with evidence: measurement, docs, and enablement that make the better path the easier one
• Engineers around you got better because you were there, and you can point to specifics

Nice to Have

• Experience with our stack: GCP (Cloud Run), Terraform, Ruby on Rails, Go, PostgreSQL, Kafka, PubSub
• You've built or operated LLM evaluation, telemetry, or agent orchestration in production
• Experience at companies during a similar scaling phase (50 → 200 engineers)
• Experience in telecom, payments, or other regulated industries

Salary Range

• €/£125,000 – 150,000
