Externally, you will serve as the operational bridge to the customer’s partner management organization, ensuring aligned messaging, efficient decision-making, and consistent cadence execution.

Our Strategic Accounts organization supports the largest, most complex customer relationships in AWS. These accounts are unlike any other, with large teams and multiple cross-functional workstreams, and customer requirements extend beyond standard protocols. Account-based program management exists here because the sheer scale and operational complexity of Strategic Accounts demand dedicated, embedded program leadership to coordinate customer specific requirements and account-specific initiatives and mechanisms.

If you are excited about enabling high-performing teams at scale, building mechanisms that create leverage for senior leaders, driving operational excellence across multi-stakeholder programs, and leveraging generative AI to transform how organizations operate, we would love to hear from you.

About The Role

You will be a critical enabler for account leadership, providing comprehensive program management support across the full lifecycle of commercial activities, account operations, and strategic initiatives. You will maintain a holistic view of your supported account, driving consistency, standardization, transparency, and continuous improvement across the organization.

You will interface with customer partner organization and account leadership, ensuring alignment and accountability across complex, multi-stakeholder programs. You will translate leadership priorities into executable program plans, build governance frameworks that create visibility at every level, and design repeatable mechanisms that enable your supported organizations to operate at a higher level than they could without you.

You are encouraged to think big, invent, and take ownership. You will not simply manage programs handed to you, you will identify operational gaps, propose solutions, and build mechanisms that scale. You will champion generative AI adoption within your workflows and across your supported teams, continuously seeking opportunities to automate, accelerate, and improve how the organization operates.

Successful candidates will have a strong program management background, demonstrated ability to operate autonomously at a strategic level, excellent organizational and communication skills, and a track record of driving operational outcomes in ambiguous, fast-paced environments. You will be a peer leader who gains stakeholder buy-in, influences without authority, and creates leverage for the leaders you support.

Key job responsibilities
Responsibilities

1/ Commercial / Contract Administration Commercial acumen and contract coordination. Ability to understand and coordinate complex pricing agreements, amendments, and credit mechanisms across internal teams (SCE, Legal, Finance) and external partner counterparts. This includes managing approval workflows, tracking financial reconciliation, and facilitating multi-party commercial reviews.

2/ Customer Stakeholder Relationship Management Partner and stakeholder relationship management. Experience managing day-to-day cadences and governance rhythms with senior external customer partner managers, including running bi-weekly syncs, QBRs, and joint planning exercises. Ability to represent AWS credibly in commercial conversations with customer partner organizations.

3/ Account-Specific Cadence Management You will establish, own, and continuously improve account-specific business cadences. You will manage reporting cycles, maintain organizational calendars, and ensure cadence mechanisms drive accountability and decision-making rather than status reporting.

4/ Account-Specific Tooling & Mechanisms You will own the infrastructure that enables account team productivity. This includes designing and managing tracking systems, knowledge bases, internal sites, automation workflows, technology migrations, and permissions management. You will drive adoption of generative AI tools across account teams, pilot high-impact use cases, and scale best practices across the district.

About The Team

The AWSI Strategic Accounts Program Management team operates as strategic partners embedded within district/account teams. We create leverage for the leaders and organizations we support. We are not project coordinators, we are strategic program managers who design governance frameworks, build repeatable mechanisms, and ensure cross-functional teams are coordinated toward shared customer outcomes.

Our engagement model enables leaders to redirect time from operational execution to strategic customer engagement and high-impact decision-making. We serve as the connective tissue for our supported organizations: anticipating needs, connecting cross-functional partners, maintaining institutional knowledge, and driving accountability for deliverables across complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.

Basic Qualifications
  • 7+ years of program or project management experience
  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements
  • Experience owning program strategy, end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership
  • German language proficiency. Business-level German to support day-to-day interactions with the partner management team based in Walldorf, Germany, and participation in German-language governance meetings.
  • 5+ years of experience designing, building, and scaling operational mechanisms and governance frameworks for cross-functional programs
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of driving process improvements experience
  • Master's degree, or MBA in business, operations, human resources, adult education, organizational development, instructional design or related field
  • Experience designing, implementing, and scaling upskilling, apprenticeship, or workforce development programs across large-scale operations or corporate environments, including forecasting workforce needs and leveraging analytics to drive program decisions
  • Experience with commercial agreements and commercial transactions
  • Experience operating within large, matrixed organizations with complex stakeholder landscapes and multiple cross-functional dependencies
  • Experience with generative AI tools and a demonstrated ability to identify and implement AI-driven process improvements within program management workflows
