Amazon is seeking a talented and motivated Engineer to work on system architectures, product design, and roadmaps for out robot actuators. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in system actuator architecture, system design, complex mechatronics, possess good communication skills, and lead system and subsystem architecture definition. This candidate must have the ability to work well both independently and in a team setting. This candidate must be able to drive progress from full ambiguity to product design and release to production.

A day in the life

• Owning the delivery of actuation robotic products for light-weight robots on time, in budget and at the targeted performance
• Scoping, managing, and delivering multiple technical projects in parallel from concept to production
• Work with an interdisciplinary team to improve and maintain existing product designs including specification, design, prototyping, validation and testing
• Work with the Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain and Quality organizations as well as vendors to ensure a smooth production transition of design changes
• Write requirements and functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
• Exhibit role model behaviors of thorough engineering analysis
• Mentor colleagues

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related fields
• Experience in robotics design, automation systems development, control systems design, or related product development
• Experience with Agile methods and processes
• Experience in mechanical design and management

Preferred Qualifications

• Mechatronic Systems Experience
