We are looking for someone to join our team who brings strong consulting expertise, a collaborative approach, and a desire to deliver high‑impact results for our customers. As a Senior Functional Consultant (P4), you will take a lead role on project engagements, taking ownership of core functional finance workstreams across complex end-to-end Workday Financial Management implementations. You will act as a trusted advisor to key financial stakeholders, driving solution design workshops, configuring robust system setups, and guiding customers through key project milestones while mentoring junior team members.

What you will achieve in your first 12 – 24 months

Here are some of the activities you will experience on your Workday career journey:

• Within your first 3 months, you will complete or refresh your Workday Core Finance Certification and obtain advanced Specialist Certifications across key modules (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable/Receivable, Procurement, or Expenses).
• You will take immediate ownership of primary Finance workstreams on active deployments, acting as the primary functional expert during discovery and configuration phases.
• You will work closely with cross‑functional project leads, including Data, Integration, and Technical Consultants, to architect seamless touchpoints across the entire solution delivery landscape.
• Demonstrate advanced mastery of Workday’s implementation methodology across each project phase:
  • Facilitating deep‑dive business requirement sessions with CFO organization SMEs, demonstrating standard Workday best practices, and mapping legacy accounting structures to the Workday Foundation Data Model (FDM).
  • Translating complex DACH business and statutory requirements (e.g., GoBD, HGB, Swiss CO, multi‑GAAP, and local tax setups) into scalable, hands‑on configured solutions.
  • Leading testing streams (Unit, E2E, and UAT), managing client resolution paths for edge cases, and guiding customers through risk‑mitigated go‑live cutover activities.
• Within your 1st year, you will have successfully delivered at least 1–2 full‑cycle complex implementation projects in the DACH market.
• In your 2nd year, you will expand your footprint by leading multi‑stream financial designs, mentoring P2/P3 functional consultants, and contributing to internal DACH practice assets and continuous deployment innovations.

About You

The role requires a strong combination of functional financial acumen, technical configuration capability, and client‑facing leadership. Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of functional consulting experience, either as an Internal Consultant or with a Consulting/Software company, focused on enterprise financial management applications.
• 2+ years of hands‑on experience implementing or configuring Workday Financials (Core Financials, FDM, General Ledger, AP/AR, Assets, Banking, or Revenue).
• Deep understanding of corporate financial accounting, multi‑currency operations, and statutory reporting frameworks within the DACH region.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English and German is mandatory.

Other Qualifications

• Proven track record leading functional workstreams on full‑lifecycle ERP software implementations (e.g., Workday, SAP, Oracle Financials Cloud, NetSuite).
• Demonstrated ability to build trust with finance leaders and functional SMEs, constructively challenging legacy processes in favor of modern, standardized SaaS workflows.
• Strong business analysis, requirements gathering, and workshop facilitation skills with an ability to present technical configurations clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
• Experience guiding localized DACH accounting requirements, including principles of proper bookkeeping (GoBD), HGB, and European VAT processing.
• Familiarity with leveraging automation and modern AI/ML capabilities within financial applications (e.g., automated ledger entries, anomaly detection).
• A detail‑driven problem solver with a passion for delivering exceptional levels of customer service.
• Proven capability to mentor junior team members and review configuration quality across sub‑workstreams.
• Resourceful, adaptable, and highly autonomous; comfortable working remotely utilizing modern collaboration tools.
• Ability to travel up to 30% of the time (under typical circumstances).

Listed below is the base salary range applicable to this position. Workday pay ranges (and the precise pay offered to the successful candidate) are based on a number of objective criteria such as relevant experience and skills, and educational qualifications, level of responsibility, demands of the role, work location and business need. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role‑specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants awarded by Workday Inc.
