GOLDBECK SOLAR Gruppe sucht eine erfahrene Fachkraft als Lead Category Manager für Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Sie steuern technische Evaluierung, Qualifizierung und strategische Beschaffung auf Großanlagenebene und arbeiten eng mit internationalen Lieferanten sowie internen Engineering-Teams zusammen.

Qualifikationen

• Abgeschlossenes Hochschulstudium in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering oder einem vergleichbaren technischen Fach.
• Mehrjährige Berufserfahrung in Ingenieurwesen oder technischer Beschaffung, ideal mit Großspeichern, Umspannwerken oder Hochspannungsprojekten.
• Fundiertes Verständnis von Batteriesystemen, Netzanschlüssen und Einliniendiagrammen.
• Ausgeprägte analytische Fähigkeiten und die Fähigkeit, komplexe technische Daten in nutzbare Excel-Tools zu übersetzen.
• Proaktives Problemlösungsdenken und Bereitschaft, neue Rahmenwerke von Grund auf zu entwickeln.
• Souveräne Kommunikationsfähigkeiten im Umgang mit globalen Lieferanten und technischen Diskussionen mit kommerziellen Managern.
• Fließend Englisch und Deutsch

Aufgaben

• Technische Bewertung großer Batteriespeicher (BESS) von Top-Lieferanten durchführen.
• Technische Aspekte von Ausschreibungen managen, Angebote vergleichen und Kaufentscheidungen unterstützen.
• Technische Anfragen von Kunden analysieren und passende, kosteneffiziente Battery‑Setups empfehlen.
• Mit internen Engineering-Teams zusammenarbeiten, Designs optimieren und Kosten senken.
• Interne Tools und Vorlagen wie Battery-Degradation-Modelle erstellen und pflegen.
• Mit Batteriemanufacturern zu technischen Details, Schnittstellen und Kommunikationsprotokollen abstimmen.
• Bei Vertragsverhandlungen technische Teile der Verträge unterstützen, Fokus auf Leistung, Effizienz und Lebenszyklen.
• Technische Risiken in der Lieferkette identifizieren und Lieferantenleistung bewerten.

This is what you can expect

In this newly established, business-critical role, you will become the core technical and engineering backbone of our global Category Management team. Your primary focus will be the technical evaluation, qualification, and strategic sourcing of utility-scale Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).

You will work at the crucial intersection between international Tier-1 equipment manufacturers (e.g., cell, container, and inverter suppliers) and internal regional engineering and sales departments. Your mission is to bridge the gap between engineering and procurement, translating complex technical project requirements into optimized commercial configurations and standardized procurement frameworks to safeguard our rapidly growing European utility-scale pipeline.

Your Responsibilities

1. Review and technically evaluate large-scale battery storage solutions (BESS) from top global suppliers like Sungrow, CATL etc.
2. Manage the technical aspects of tender processes, compare different supplier offers, and help make clear buying decisions.
3. Analyze technical requests from clients and match them with the best and most cost-effective battery setups.
4. Work closely with internal engineering teams to optimize designs, cut unnecessary costs, and prevent over-engineering.
5. Create and maintain internal tools and templates, such as battery degradation models, to speed up the pre-sales process.
6. Align directly with battery manufacturers on technical details, boundaries, and communication protocols before contracts are signed.
7. Help procurement managers write the technical parts of contracts, focusing on performance guarantees, efficiency, and battery lifecycles.
8. Spot technical risks in the supply chain and help grade supplier performance.

What we are looking for

1. A university degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a similar technical field
2. Several years of professional experience in engineering or technical sourcing, ideally working with large-scale battery storage, substations, or high-voltage projects
3. A solid understanding of battery technologies, grid connections, and single-line diagrams
4. Strong analytical skills and the ability to turn complex technical data into easy-to-use Excel tools
5. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the drive to build new frameworks and processes from scratch
6. Confident communication skills to manage technical discussions with global suppliers and explain technical terms to commercial managers
7. Fluency in English and German is required
