Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Solutions Architect to partner with Digital Natives and Startups in Germany, focusing on translating customer needs into scalable data solutions on the Databricks platform. You will conduct hands-on evaluations and help form reference architectures that drive adoption.

The role requires fluent German and English, 7+ years in pre-sales or solution consulting, and strong architecture skills across cloud and big data.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in pre-sales, solution consulting or similar customer-facing technical roles.
• Strong client-facing and storytelling abilities with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Willingness to learn Spark basics and work with Databricks platform in a hybrid setup.

The impact you will have:

• Form successful relationships with clients throughout your assigned territory, providing technical and business value to Databricks customers in collaboration with Account Executives.
• Gain excitement from clients about Databricks through hands‑on evaluation and programming, integrating with the wider cloud ecosystem and 3rd party applications.
• You will develop into a ‘champion’ and trusted advisor on multiple issues of architecture, design, and implementation to lead to the successful adoption of the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.
• Contribute to building the Databricks technical community through engagement at workshops, seminars, and meet‑ups.
• Support your customers by authoring reference architectures, how-tos, and demo applications.
• Grow your knowledge and expertise to the level of a technical and/or industry specialist.

What we look for:

• Engage customers in technical sales, challenge their questions, guide clear outcomes, and communicate technical and value propositions
• Structured approach in working and guiding your customers
• Develop and maintain customer relationships and build internal partnerships with account executives and teams
• Prior experience with coding in a core programming language (i.e., Python, SQL, Java) and willingness to learn a base level of Spark.
• Proficient with Big Data Analytics technologies, including hands‑on expertise with complex proofs‑of‑concept and public cloud platform(s)
• Experienced in use case discovery, scoping, and delivering complex solution architecture designs to multiple audiences requiring an ability to context switch in levels of technical depth
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in pre‑sales, solution consulting, or related customer‑facing technical roles

Notes on mandatory requirements:

• The location for the role must be in the Munich or Berlin region (or within a commutable distance for a hybrid schedule).
• Fluency in German and English is required as a minimum.
