We are looking for a Solution Architect (m/f/d) to join our IT architecture team in Eschborn, Neuenstein (Hesse), Bad Hersfeld, Kassel or remote! You will be part of the GLS Group IT Solutions & Architecture unit which takes care of our microservice architecture, API products and web portals for international parcel logistics around the world.

As architect you will work on cloud-native and API-first solutions for our internal organization, partners and customers. You work closely with development teams to validate ideas in real systems and make robust design decisions. Architecture in our team is about enabling teams and shaping solutions that work in practice.

What can you expect with us?

• Work closely with our agile product development teams to create applications that drive our global logistics network, like parcel routing APIs or Parcel Shop search
• Design and implement scalable microservice architectures based on our cloud-native platform stack (AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka)
• Design and implement cross-cutting concepts together with our development teams that improve how our systems run. From scalability and resilience to security, cost efficiency and observability
• Take ownership of solution architectures and collaborate closely with other architects and the Lead Architect on shared patterns, integrations and platform topics
• Enable engineers and IT architects across our global subsidiaries by sharing best practices and supporting teams in architectural discussions
• Build prototypes and explore new technologies to continuously improve our solutions

What do you bring to the table?

• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
• Background in software development, ideally Java or another backend languages
• Solid understanding of patterns like event-driven architecture, API-first and domain-driven design
• Comfortable working with cloud and container architectures at a conceptual and practical level (AWS, Kubernetes)
