Résumé du poste

IDEALworks GmbH in Munich is seeking an experienced robotics software engineer to advance navigation and SLAM in production robots. You will design C++17+ ROS 2 based systems with real-time performance, build planning, localization, and behavior logic, and validate features on hardware and in simulation.

The role offers a hybrid working model, a competitive package with annual bonus potential, and strong opportunities for professional growth in an international team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering, computer engineering, robotics, or related fields.
  • 3+ years of experience developing navigation software for wheeled mobile robots in real-world/industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in C++ (C++17+) and solid object‑oriented design.
  • Hands-on experience with ROS 2, Nav2 or similar navigation framework, TF, costmaps and behavior trees.
  • Experience in localization/SLAM, path planning, motion control or behavior-based decision making.
  • Experience with Linux, Git, and Docker; excellent English communication.

Responsabilités

  • Localization: Improve LiDAR localization and SLAM for robust robot pose estimation.
  • Planning and control: Develop global and local planners for feasible trajectory generation and tracking.
  • Behavior: Build behavior-tree navigation logic for replanning, recovery and safety handling.
  • Software: Write real-time capable, multi-threaded C++ and ROS 2 software for production robots.
  • Testing and validation: Validate features through automated tests in simulation and hands-on testing on hardware.
  • Debugging: Find root causes of field issues across the navigation stack.
