Mindex is seeking a SchoolTool Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple engineering teams, shaping technical strategy, people development, and delivery excellence. You will collaborate across Product, UX, QA, Support, and CloudOps to build scalable, secure software with AI-assisted practices.

You’ll drive recruitment, performance management, and architectural direction while championing modern engineering standards and responsible AI adoption across planning, coding, and testing.

Mindex is looking for a SchoolTool Software Engineering Manager to lead multiple engineering teams responsible for the continued development and evolution of our SchoolTool platform. This role combines people leadership, technical strategy, and operational excellence to help teams deliver secure, scalable, and customer-focused software solutions.

You’ll play a key role in developing engineers, driving modern engineering practices, improving delivery processes, and partnering across Product, UX, QA, Support, and CloudOps to build high-quality products. We’re looking for a collaborative leader who is passionate about coaching teams, leading through change, and advancing AI-assisted software development in a practical and measurable way.

Compensation
$120,000 - $173,000

What You’ll Accomplish

• Lead, coach, and develop multiple software engineering teams through regular one-on-ones, performance feedback, career development, and mentorship
• Foster a collaborative engineering culture focused on accountability, continuous learning, and high-quality software delivery
• Support hiring, onboarding, workforce planning, and succession planning to build strong, scalable engineering teams
• Drive delivery execution by managing priorities, balancing customer needs, technical debt, production support, and platform modernization initiatives
• Coordinate release planning, OKRs, cross-team initiatives, risk management, and operational readiness to ensure successful product delivery
• Partner with Product, UX, QA, Support, CloudOps, and other stakeholders to align priorities, manage dependencies, and deliver exceptional customer outcomes
• Lead technical response efforts for production issues and customer-impacting incidents through effective coordination, communication, and resolution
• Collaborate with senior engineers to define architectural direction, establish engineering standards, reduce technical risk, and improve platform maintainability
• Advance software quality through improved engineering practices, automation, observability, security, and modernization efforts
• Champion the adoption of AI-assisted software development across planning, coding, testing, documentation, and troubleshooting while promoting responsible AI practices and measurable team outcomes

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 7+ years of software engineering experience, including leadership or management responsibilities across multiple engineering teams or workstreams
• Proven experience coaching engineers, developing high-performing teams, and managing performance and career growth
• Experience delivering enterprise software products with active customers, production support responsibilities, and regular release cycles
• Strong background in software architecture, scalable application design, legacy modernization, and secure software development
• Experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, RESTful APIs, relational databases, and modern web application architecture
• Experience with component-based UI development, Blazor, .NET MAUI, design systems, and shared component libraries
• Experience with AWS or other cloud-hosted environments, deployment automation, monitoring, observability, and Azure DevOps or similar development tools
• Experience collaborating with Product, UX, QA, Support, CloudOps, and business stakeholders in an Agile environment
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences
• Experience leading engineering transformation initiatives and driving adoption of modern software development practices
• Experience using or leading AI-assisted software development workflows is strongly preferred
