Software Engineer –HybridUK
Pearson Carter are working with a leading professional services organisation looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join their IT team. You will be responsible for maintaining and developing business-critical applications, supporting Microsoft technologies and working closely with internal stakeholders and third-party suppliers.
This is a varied development role covering Microsoft Power Platform, Microsoft 365, C#, ASP.NET, SQL, APIs and web technologies, with the opportunity to work across both bespoke applications and enterprise platforms.
Responsibilities
- Take ownership of key business applications and work with stakeholders on ongoing development and maintenance
- Develop and maintain Microsoft Power Platform solutions including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Power Pages
- Develop and maintain custom Microsoft Teams and Microsoft 365 applications
- Maintain integrations between business applications and external platforms
- Provide third-line support for bespoke applications, CMS/PMS customisations and scripts
- Assist with IIS webserver and webservices management
- Support application and website-related databases
- Maintain application certificates, secrets and key management
- Provide development support across wider IT projects
- Create and maintain technical documentation
- Act as a primary development contact for the wider business
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers and third-party support providers
- Assist senior technical leadership with development and application-related activities
Experience
- Commercial software development experience
- Strong experience working with the Microsoft cloud ecosystem
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform
- Experience with Power Apps and Power Automate
- Experience with C#, ASP.NET, HTML, JavaScript and PowerShell
- Strong SQL/database experience
- Experience working with RESTful APIs, oData and integrations
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming
- Experience supporting and maintaining business-critical applications
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously while contributing effectively within a wider team
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable
- Experience with LexisNexis Visualfiles
- Knowledge of Progress OpenEdge databases
- Experience with Power BI and Power Pages
- Microsoft Teams/Microsoft 365 application development experience
- Experience with IIS and web services
- Experience managing application certificates, secrets and keys
- Experience working with third-party suppliers and support partners
