Zusammenfassung

At MKS/Atotech, a Software Engineer (w/m/d) will partner with internal teams, customers and engineering groups to develop, maintain, and support software systems integrated with industrial equipment at customer sites.

The role involves on-site installation, configuration, and troubleshooting, plus training customers and internal teams, while ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Travel up to 60% is required.

Jobbeschreibung

As a Software Engineer (w/m/d) at MKS/Atotech, you will partner with internal teams, customers, and engineering groups to develop, maintain, and support software systems integrated with industrial equipment. In this role, you will report to the Software Engineering Manager. This is an industrial software and automation engineering role where you install, configure, troubleshoot, and support software-controlled manufacturing equipment at customer sites, combining programming knowledge with hardware, PLC, networking, and customer-facing work.

You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Commissioning and configuring software systems during equipment installation to ensure seamless operation.
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting software and system issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Training customers and internal teams on the proper operation and maintenance of software and equipment systems.
  • Ensuring software and equipment systems comply with company standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Managing communication protocols (SECS/GEM, OPC) and supporting fieldbus systems (Modbus, EtherCAT, Profibus).
Travel Requirements:

Up to 60% of travel is required for on-site support and commissioning.

Skills You Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in software development, system integration, industrial automation, or a related technical field.
  • Strong understanding of electrical circuits, mechanical systems, and industrial machinery.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot software, operating system, and application issues.
  • Experience with PLC programming and industrial automation systems.
  • Familiarity with instrumentation, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of industrial safety standards and maintenance protocols.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, customer service, time management, and adaptability skills, with the ability to train and support customers and junior engineers.
  • Strong English communication skills are required; German and Russian language skills are a plus.
Preferred Skills:
  • Basic Knowledge of JavaScript and Python: Understanding these programming languages for scripting and automation tasks.
  • Understanding the Role of MES and ERP Systems: Familiarity with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and their integration in industrial environments.
  • Basics of SECS/GEM Communication Concept: Knowledge of the SECS/GEM standards for communication in semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
