We are seeking a skilled Software Developer specializing in Modelling & Simulation to join our team within the "Modelling & Simulation Software Product Line" at Airbus Defence and Space GmbH in Immenstaad am Bodensee. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing our proprietary simulation frameworks, which are vital for analyzing and optimizing complex systems of systems, including military platforms across land, air, sea, space, and cyber domains. Your work will support leading defense programs and related studies by implementing sophisticated simulation architectures that facilitate early-stage design decisions and operational assessments.

The ideal candidate will have a successfully completed university degree (Bachelor or Master) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field. You should possess at least 2-3 years of practical experience in software development, particularly within simulation environments and complex system modeling. Proficiency in C++, ideally in versions C++11, C++14, or newer, is essential, along with familiarity with relevant libraries such as Qt for GUI development, OpenGL, and OpenSceneGraph. Knowledge of agile development methodologies like Scrum, along with experience using tools such as JIRA and Confluence, will be advantageous.
Additional skills include experience with version control systems like GitHub or GitLab, familiarity with 3D modeling, game engines such as Unity3D, and open-source libraries like NumPy and OpenCV. Fluency in German (C2 level) and English (B2 level) is required for effective communication within international teams and with stakeholders. For more advanced responsibilities, candidates should demonstrate a solid track record of managing project scope, timelines, and budgets, along with the ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
Additional responsibilities, when aligned with experience, include leading simulation projects, overseeing work package delivery, engaging in technical exchanges with industry and academia, and contributing to the continuous improvement of simulation methodologies and tools.
