Job description

A senior welding engineer in production typically owns welding processes, procedures, and quality for manufacturing. The role asks for deep knowledge of welding metallurgy, codes and standards, and hands on experience with automated and manual welding. A strong candidate brings a track record of solving production welding problems and improving yield and reliability. At a company making high power energy storage systems, welding quality directly affects the safety and performance of supercapacitors and SuperBatteries used in data centers, grids, transport and defense.

How it fits the AI era

AI is changing welding engineering by helping with weld quality monitoring, defect detection, and process parameter optimization from sensor data. It also supports faster procedure development and predictive maintenance of welding equipment. What stays human is the judgment to set welding strategy, interpret codes, and make safe calls on critical joints where failure is not an option.

How it builds AI experience

Working here would build AI experience in using vision systems and sensor data to catch weld defects in real time and in tuning automated welding lines for high volume production. It also offers a chance to learn how data from welding processes feeds into quality systems and continuous improvement. To build this, one could study machine learning basics for manufacturing, practice with weld monitoring tools, and learn how to turn process data into better welding procedures.

Worth showing

• Weld quality inspection
• Automated welding systems
• Metallurgy and materials
• Production problem solving
