Jobbeschreibung

Senior Technical Program Manager, Cloudscape Design System, Cloudscape

Job ID: 10509670 | Amazon Web Services Development Center Germany GmbH

Cloudscape is the design system for AWS - a comprehensive set of UI guidelines, front-end components, design resources, and development tools used by 250+ teams at AWS to build intuitive, engaging, and inclusive user experiences across the AWS Management Console and beyond (see https://cloudscape.design/). With 114+ components, 80+ patterns, generative AI tooling, and an open-source presence on GitHub, Cloudscape powers every customer-facing surface of the AWS console and defines the visual and interaction language for the AWS platform.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to drive strategic adoption programs at scale, create governance mechanisms for design system usage, build business reporting, and support a high-performing team of 35+ designers and engineers. In this role, you'll operate at the intersection of technical program management and platform strategy - ensuring hundreds of teams across AWS successfully adopt Cloudscape while continuously improving how our team operates through AI-powered mechanisms and data-driven insights.

This is a senior individual contributor role requiring someone who can build alignment across organizational boundaries, create clarity from ambiguity, and drive outcomes that directly impact the quality and consistency of the AWS customer experience.

Cloudscape is a part of AWS Utility Computing (UC) which provides product innovations — from foundational services such as Amazon’s Simple Storage Service (S3) and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), to consistently released new product innovations that continue to set AWS’s services and features apart in the industry. As a member of the UC organization, you’ll support the development and management of Compute, Database, Storage, Internet of Things (Iot), Platform, and Productivity Apps services in AWS, including support for customers who require specialized security solutions for their cloud services.

Key job responsibilities
  • Drive Cloudscape adoption programs end-to-end across 250+ consuming teams at AWS, defining scope, milestones, success metrics, and escalation paths
  • Implement governance mechanisms for design system usage across the spectrum of AWS interface types
  • Drive team's business monthly and weekly reporting cadence, defining KPIs that measure adoption, and delivery velocity
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline program activities using generative AI - from automated adoption tracking and governance compliance monitoring to AI-assisted stakeholder communications
  • Serve as the program management backbone for a team of 35+ designers and engineers - anticipating needs, removing blockers, and enabling delivery
  • Coordinate cross-functional planning (sprints, roadmap alignment, resource allocation) and facilitate team-wide operational rhythms
A day in the life

Your morning starts with a quick check of adoption dashboards - a major AWS service just completed their Cloudscape migration, and you update the business reporting narrative to reflect the win. You jump into a stakeholder sync with an engineering director whose team is blocked on their adoption timeline, quickly unblocking them by connecting them with the right Cloudscape engineers. Mid-morning, you prototype an AI agent that auto-generates weekly adoption progress summaries. After lunch, you facilitate a planning session with the team's engineering and design leads. You close the day preparing an MBR deck that contains wins and lowlights.

About the team

The Cloudscape team builds the design system that powers the AWS Management Console - one of the most-used enterprise interfaces in the world. We're a multidisciplinary team of 35+ spanning UX design, front-end engineering, research, and program management. We ship 114+ components, maintain comprehensive design guidance, and build AI-powered tools that help teams build faster. Our work directly impacts millions of AWS customers and hundreds of service teams.
