GMV is expanding its satellite communications and systems engineering teams in Germany. We seek experts in system engineering and architectures with a passion for distributed and networked systems.

You will shape technical roadmaps and lead end-to-end architecture across space, ground and terrestrial segments. Key tasks include driving design, verification and deployment, collaborating across business units and customers, and mentoring engineers while contributing to bids and technology

Qualifikationen

• Strong background in software development and architecture across space, ground and terrestrial segments.
• Experience with Python/C++ in Linux, cloud-native, containerized and distributed systems.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation and modern deployment practices.
• Familiarity with communication systems, networking, requirements engineering and verification.
• Experience in software-intensive aerospace or telecom environments; architectural leadership.

WHAT CHALLENGE WILL YOU BE TAKING ON?

In our team you will supportthe definition and evolution of technical roadmaps within theSatcom Operations& Testbeds domain.

Your main tasks will include:

• Lead systems and software architecture for communication systems, operational platforms and testbed environments, covering end-to-end solutions across space, ground and terrestrial segments.
• Drive technical solution design, development, integration, verification and deployment throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring architectural consistency and quality.
• Collaborate with GMV business units, technical experts and customers through technical reviews, workshops, project meetings and consortium activities.
• Support proposals, work package planning, innovation initiatives and technology assessments to shape future capabilities and business opportunities.
• Mentor engineers, promote knowledge sharing and represent GMV in relevant technical forums and communities.

WHAT DO WE NEED IN OUR TEAM?

We are looking for experts in System Engineering and System Architectureswith backgroundand interest in distributed and networked systems.

Here is what we are looking for in detail:

• Strong background in software development and architecture, ideally with Python and/or C++, Linux environments, cloud-native technologies, containerized and distributed systems.
• Solid understanding of DevSecOps, CI/CD, infrastructure automation and modern software deployment practices.
• Knowledge of communication systems, networking, requirements engineering, interface management and verification.
• Significant professional experience in software-intensive, telecommunications, aerospace or related engineering environments, including the definition and implementation of technical architectures.
• Proven experience working in multidisciplinary engineering teams and contributing to technical proposals, bids and business development activities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with professional proficiency in English; German is a plus.

We will also value previous experience, and knowledge in:

• Satellite and optical communications, high-rate data transport, ground segment systems, communication testbeds and interoperability validation environments.
• Knowledge of secure networking, cyber-resilience, CCSDS standards, space communication protocols, 5G/6G, NTN and hybrid communication architectures, as well as MBSE, embedded systems and real-time software.
• Experience with ESA, DLR, EUMETSAT or other institutional programmes, Horizon Europe or collaborative R&D projects, combined with technical leadership in international teams or consortia.
