About the role

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Senior Solutions Architect to join our Financial Services Industries (FSI) team, working with Enterprise customers in this dynamic and rapidly evolving industry. This role combines deep technical expertise with industry‑specific knowledge to help banks, insurances, fintechs, payment industries and exchange platforms transform their businesses through cloud adoption.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain executive‑level relationships with senior leadership at major financial services companies, serving as their primary technical advisor for cloud transformation initiatives.
• Accelerate customers’ challenging, mission‑critical projects and recommend best‑practice architectures in line with their long‑term business outcomes.
• Leverage deep understanding of financial services challenges, regulatory requirements, and emerging technologies to provide prescriptive guidance on digital transformation strategies.
• Partner with sales teams to identify, qualify, and close complex enterprise opportunities, directly contributing to significant revenue growth in the FSI vertical.
• Lead cross‑functional teams through complex implementations, providing architectural oversight and ensuring solutions meet the customer’s performance, security, and compliance requirements.
• Contribute to industry discourse through white papers, conference presentations, and customer case studies that showcase innovative approaches to financial services challenges.
• Identify emerging technology trends and help customers understand how innovations like AI/ML and immersive technologies can create competitive advantages.
• Help grow the Solutions Architecture organization by interviewing candidates and having a voice in hiring decisions, and by mentoring team members.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands‑on experience in solutions architecture, systems engineering, or technical consulting roles and 5+ years of experience working within financial services industries.
• Fluent in English and German language.
• Experience migrating or transforming legacy customer solutions to the cloud.
• Knowledge of AWS services, market segments, customer base and industry verticals.
• Experience working with state‑of‑the‑art generative AI technology and architecting solutions to solve business problems with generative AI.
