Automat-it is seeking an experienced AWS-focused pre-sales engineer to translate customer requirements into scalable cloud architectures. You will work with global startup customers and cross-functionally with account executives to shape AWS solutions that meet business needs.

The role is remote from Berlin/Munich with frequent travel. Requirements include 3+ years in AWS, 2+ years in customer-facing roles, Kubernetes and CI/CD expertise, and strong English and German communication skills.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience, including design, migration and maintenance.
• 2+ years in technical customer-facing roles such as Customer Engineering or Cloud Architect.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes, CI/CD tools, and DevOps practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and implement AWS-based solutions meeting business needs.
• Conduct Well-Architected reviews and define statements of work (SoW).
• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure best-practice designs.
• Share knowledge with customers through workshops, conferences, webinars, etc.
• Travel locally and abroad at least quarterly.

In this position, you will be a key member in the pre-sales process, working directly with global startup customers and cross-functioning with account executives to develop AWS solutions for the customers. Work location - remote from Berlin/Munich.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement solutions to meet business requirements and create cost-efficient, highly available, and scalable solutions for customers, including Well-Architected reviews and SoW.
• Research and analyze current solutions and initiate improvement plans.
• Collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure solutions are designed and developed according to best practices.
• Share your knowledge with our customers and the cloud community by participating in public speaking engagements such as workshops, conferences, webinars, and more.
• Frequent travels - locally (on-demand to meet with customers and partners and attend local events) and abroad (at least once a quarter).

Requirements

• 3+ years of hands-on experience in an AWS environment, including implementation, migration, and maintenance, designing solutions end-to-end
• 2+ years of experience in technical customer-facing roles, such as Customer Engineering, SRE, Cloud Architect, or equivalent
• 2+ years of experience in an IT environment, including hands-on in Kubernetes, CI/CD, and DevOps tools - an advantage
• Proven experience in a production environment, developing software with either Python, Go, Java, or equivalents
• In-depth knowledge of AWS's main services, with an emphasis on Kubernetes and Containers
• Successfully designed DevOps and Infrastructure for high-scale production environments in AWS
• Understanding of Information Security best practices
• Certified AWS Solutions Architect - Associate
• AWS Solutions Architect Professional or a specialty certification - an advantage
• Ability to effectively communicate technical design in verbal and written formats in front of customers
• Ability to lead an end-to-end engagement with the account management team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and German
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
