Job summary

Riverty is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Payments) to join one of our product teams. You will design, implement, test, and ship robust software, APIs, and workflows in a fast-paced fintech environment.

You will contribute to technical architecture, participate in agile ceremonies, and help maintain documentation while advancing industry standards. The role supports flexible hybrid work across multiple locations including Berlin and other European offices.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with C# and the .NET framework (min 5 years).
• Experience developing, shipping, and maintaining cloud-based applications.
• Knowledge of microservices and distributed architectures.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs.
• Experience with non-relational/document databases (MongoDB).
• Familiarity with ORMs (Entity Framework).
• Cloud development experience; Azure a plus.
• Messaging in distributed architectures (RabbitMQ/MassTransit/Kafka).
• Containerization with Docker; Kubernetes for orchestration.
• Terraform for IaC; monitoring with NewRelic.
• Proficient English (written and spoken).
• FinTech or banking industry experience is a plus.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer (Payments) (m/f/d) (unlimited, full-time) to join our team located in Tallinn, Berlin, Stockholm, or Varberg - flexible working conditions available.

You will join one of our product teams and daily you will:

• Design, develop, test, and ship robust, maintainable, and readable software, applications, APIs, and other workflows
• Initiate, participate in, and communicate technical architecture designs
• Attend regular scrum ceremonies as a member of an agile cross-functional team
• Analyze, discuss, and implement business requirements while maintaining good documentation of the systems and components you create
• Bring in industry standards and best practices to continually improve our codebase and architecture
• Make a positive impact on our engineering culture by adopting, implementing, and providing feedback on both organizational and industry standards and practices

Qualifications

Your skills:

• Hands‑on experience with C# and the .NET framework, with a minimum of 5 years of experience
• Experience developing, shipping, and maintaining cloud‑based applications
• Good knowledge and experience working with microservices and distributed architectures
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs
• Experience with non‑relational/documental databases, preferably Mongo DB
• Working knowledge of ORMs, preferably Entity Framework
• Familiarity with cloud development; experience with Azure is a plus
• Experience with messaging platforms in distributed architectures (e.g., RabbitMQ, MassTransit, Kafka)
• Proficiency with containerization technologies such as Docker
• Experience with Kubernetes for container orchestration
• Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
• Monitoring and observability experience using tools like NewRelic
• Proficiency in both written and spoken English
• Experience in the FinTech or banking industry is a plus
