Zusammenfassung

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced software engineer to design, build, and operate software for logistics and manufacturing, including robotics and automation systems. The role spans hybrid cloud and on-prem environments, with responsibility for deploying at scale, maintaining uptime, and optimizing latency and efficiency.

You will bridge digital product delivery with physical manufacturing systems, define SLAs/SLOs, and monitor KPIs such as OEE.

Qualifikationen

• Experienced software engineer with hands-on background in manufacturing or logistics systems
• Background in PLC or robot programming, or software system operations in a smart factory
• Experience with infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines, QA, and scaling
• Experience operating large-scale software systems in cloud and on-prem environments, or PLC/robot systems in manufacturing or logistics
• Experience in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing
• Understanding of the commercial impact of system downtime
• Proficiency with Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Linux, PostgreSQL, Python, Bash, OPC-UA, PLC programming (TIA), and robot programming (KRL)

• Monitor, maintain, and improve software uptime, latency, and efficiency

• Write software both independently and collaboratively, including pair programming
• Deploy and roll out changes to live systems
• Operate and troubleshoot developed software during factory hours

Requirements

• Experienced software engineer
• Preferably background in manufacturing or logistics systems, PLC or robot programming, or software system operations in a smart factory
• Practical experience with infrastructure, observability, testing, deployment pipelines, quality assurance, and scaling
• Experience operating and supporting large-scale software systems in cloud and on-premises environments, or PLC and robot systems in a manufacturing or logistics facility
• Experience in companies with strong operational cultures, ideally in logistics or manufacturing
• Understanding of the commercial impact of system downtime
• Proficiency with most of: Kotlin, Spring Boot, Kubernetes, Linux, PostgreSQL, Python, Bash, OPC-UA, PLC programming (e.g. TIA), and robot programming (e.g. KRL)
• Cloud Operations experience
• Familiarity with monitoring and alerting practices for production systems
• Experience defining and working with SLAs/SLOs
• Willingness to travel to the manufacturing site in Richen and within Germany and Austria for in-person team events
