Contabo is hiring two Senior Software Developers in Platform & Infrastructure Engineering to build a new product line focused on authentication, infrastructure primitives, and API design. You will decide on software and infrastructure strategies in a green-field setup, with a team that values pragmatic risk-taking and on-call readiness.

Qualifications

• Production experience with at least one modern backend language (Go, Python, Java, or Rust).
• Experience designing and building APIs as a stable interface for infrastructure consumption.
• Proven experience with IaaS provisioning stacks: OpenStack (Nova/Ironic/Octavia).
• Kubernetes or comparable orchestration in production; virtualization platforms (KVM/OpenStack or similar).
• Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform/Ansible; large-scale infra operations.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain business logic for the new product line, including authentication and infrastructure primitives.
• Expose infrastructure primitives (virtual servers, storage, networking) and account/project/feature flag handling.
• Collaborate with internal teams to enable on-top value through services and APIs.
• Balance speed and reliability, participate in on-call and incident response.

We are looking for two full-time, permanent Senior Software Developer – Platform & Infrastructure Engineering (all genders) to start as soon as possible. We live remote-first within Germany, but you have the freedom to choose whether you want to work hybrid or completely on-site due to your proximity to one of our locations.

You’ll become an integral part of a new team which is going to be responsible for the creation and maintenance of Contabo's new product line. You’ll be part of a new team in a green field scenario making design, code and infrastructure decisions based on our product strategy and time-to-market. We’re looking for brave, pragmatic risk takers who find a balance between speed and perfectionism, who participate in on-call but also proactively work with the team on improving the redundancy of our systems.

Your main focus is going to creating the business logic side of our new product line, which means authentication, exposing infrastructure primatives such as virtual servers, storage, networking but also accounts, project, feature flags and everything else that comes with it.

As the core team, you’ll be exposing our new product not just to our customers but other internal team who will be able to build on-top of our primatives to create more value on top like managed services.

• Comfortable with on-call and production incident response
