General Summary
Qualcomm Security Engineers perform security assessments, develop company products, and collaborate across functions to ensure performance metrics and product requirements are met. The role focuses on implementing hardware and software security features and maintaining security throughout the product lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of Security Engineering experience or related work experience.
- 2+ years of experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, System Verilog, etc.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Apply security knowledge and experience to achieve engineering business objectives.
- Develop new hardware and software security features and update features in existing products, ensuring product security throughout the lifecycle.
- Perform security assessments and evaluations of company products, including vulnerability and risk assessments, threat analysis, and security code reviews to identify potential design and implementation vulnerabilities.
- Identify remediation for security risks and vulnerabilities, respond to product security incidents, and assist customers with product security issues.
- Develop and deploy trainings and tools that result in secure product development.

- Works independently with minimal supervision.
- Decision‑making may affect work beyond the immediate work group.
- Requires verbal and written communication skills to convey information; may require basic negotiation, influence, and tact.
- Has a moderate amount of influence over key organizational decisions.
- Tasks require multiple steps that can be performed in various orders; some planning, problem‑solving, and prioritization are necessary to complete the tasks effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 2+ years of Security Engineering or related work experience.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field and 1+ year of Security Engineering or related work experience.
- PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
