Job summary

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering, information security or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Several years of experience in security architecture, ideally in industrial/manufacturing contexts.
• Proven record of leading complex technical projects internationally.
• Solid knowledge of security standards/frameworks and risk management methods.
• Hands-on understanding of network, cloud and infrastructure security; exposure to embedded tech.
• Project management certification (PMP/PRINCE2) is an advantage.
• Strong communication skills; able to explain technical matters to non-technical audiences.
• Fluent English; German a strong advantage.

Senior Security Architect / Project Management | Munich

Our client is an international industrial technology group whose engineered systems are used in safety-critical environments worldwide. As security becomes central to its products, infrastructure and operations, the group is building out its security capability and is looking for a senior specialist who combines architectural depth with strong delivery skills.

This is a hybrid position. You'll shape security architecture across complex, global environments, and you'll also lead the projects that put it into practice. You'll work closely with engineering, IT and business stakeholders, so the role suits someone equally at home designing a target architecture and steering a cross-functional programme to completion.

The role:

• Design and evolve security architectures across IT, infrastructure and connected technical environments, in line with group strategy.
• Lead security projects from initiation to rollout, owning scope, timelines, budget and stakeholder alignment.
• Translate regulatory and industry security requirements into practical technical concepts and implementation roadmaps.
• Carry out risk and threat assessments, and define appropriate controls and mitigation measures.
• Act as the senior security advisor to engineering and development teams, embedding security-by-design into new solutions.
• Coordinate internal teams, international locations and external partners to make sure deliverables are met.
• Report on project progress, risks and the security posture to management and steering committees.
• Contribute to security standards, guidelines and governance frameworks across the organisation.

What you'll need:

• Several years of experience in security architecture, ideally within an industrial, manufacturing or engineering-led organisation.
• A proven record of leading complex technical projects in an international setting.
• Solid knowledge of relevant security standards and frameworks, as well as risk management methods.
