Adtran, Inc. in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, seeks an experienced RFIC engineer to lead high‑speed RFIC design for optical transceivers. Define specs and roadmaps across SiGe BiCMOS and RF CMOS, and drive development from concept to MP while mentoring junior designers.

Formación

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field.
• 5+ years in high-speed analog / RFIC design.
• Proven experience with optical transceiver RFICs and optical engines.

Responsabilidades

• Support architecture, design, and validation of high-speed RFICs for optical transceivers and engines.
• Define RFIC specs and roadmaps for coherent and direct-detect platforms (100G, 800G ZR/ ZR+).
• Own technology selection across SiGeBiCMOS, RF CMOS, and advanced foundry processes.
• Drive RFIC development from concept to MP; bring-up, DVT, PVT, MP.
• Mentor RFIC engineers and junior designers; support recruitment and capability building.

Principle Duties and Essential Functions

• Support the architecture, design, and validation ofhigh‑speedRFICs (Laser Drivers, TIAs, analogfront‑ends) for optical transceivers and optical engines
• Define RFIC specifications and roadmaps aligned with coherent anddirect‑detectoptical platforms (100G, 800G ZR / ZR+, 1.6T ZR / ZR+)
• Own technologyselectionandtrade‑offsacross SiGeBiCMOS, RF CMOS, and advanced foundry processes
• Drive RFIC development through the full lifecycle: concept → silicon →bring‑up→ DVT → PVT → MP
• Ensure RFIC performance against key metrics: bandwidth, noise, linearity, output swing, power, and robustness
• Mentor and technically guide RFIC engineers and junior designers
• Support recruitment and capability building (RFIC design, CAD, layout)
• Contribute tolong‑termtechnology strategy andnext‑generationoptical engine concepts
• Represent RFIC technology internally and externally (foundries, partners, universities)

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

• MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or related field
• 5+years’ experienceinhigh‑speedanalog / RFIC design
• Proven experience with optical transceiver or optical engine RFICsa
• Deepexpertisein:
• RFIC andhigh‑speedanalog circuit design
• Laser Drivers, TIAs, coherent /high‑speedanalogfront‑ends
• Noise, linearity, signal integrity, and power optimization
• Strong experience with Cadence design flow (Virtuoso,Spectre, EM tools)
• Experience supporting siliconbring‑up, characterization, and qualification
• Solid understanding ofelectro‑opticintegration with Silicon Photonics
• Good communicationskills across disciplines and geographies
• Comfortable working in a matrix,multi‑siteorganization
