Jobbeschreibung

Job Description Summary: The QA Engineer role is responsible for ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of complex healthcare software systems throughout the full development lifecycle. The position plays a key role in defining and executing quality strategies, embedding testing early in the development process, and supporting informed, risk‑based release decisions in an agile environment. The role involves designing and maintaining robust manual and automated test suites, driving continuous improvements in QA processes and tooling, and collaborating closely with software engineers, architects, product managers, and domain experts. Strong ownership of quality outcomes, defect analysis, and clear communication of risks and metrics to stakeholders are essential. The position also emphasizes the effective and responsible use of generative AI tools to enhance testing activities such as test design, exploratory testing, analysis, and documentation.

Employment Terms: This role is offered on a 2‑year fixed‑term basis. Based on strong performance and mutual interest, there is a clear opportunity for long‑term employment.

Responsibilities
  • Define, implement, and continuously improve test strategies for complex software systems
  • Design, execute, and maintain robust manual and automated test suites
  • Ensure quality coverage across functional, regression, integration, and system-level testing
  • Work closely with development and product teams to embed quality early in the design and implementation phases
  • Lead defect analysis, prioritization, and root cause investigations
  • Contribute to release readiness decisions by providing clear, risk‑based quality assessments
  • Drive continuous improvement of QA processes, tools, and practices
  • Promote test automation, maintainability, and scalability within CI/CD pipelines
  • Ensure quality, performance, reliability, and security requirements are met throughout the software lifecycle
  • Collaborate with domain experts to ensure validation of healthcare workflows and regulatory expectations
  • Use generative AI tools to enhance QA activities (e.g., test design, test data generation, exploratory testing support, log analysis, and documentation), ensuring transparent and policy‑compliant usage
  • Communicate quality metrics, trends, and risks clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders
  • Mentor less experienced QA team members and support the overall growth of quality engineering capabilities
Profile

  • Demonstrated experience using generative AI tools to support QA or software development activities (e.g., test case and scenario generation, exploratory testing support and defect investigation, test documentation or reporting enhancements)
  • Strong interest in AI‑enabled software and quality challenges in healthcare environments
  • Good understanding of secure and quality‑focused software development practices
Business Mindset & Quality Leadership
  • Ability to apply risk‑based thinking to testing and release decisions
  • Strong analytical skills to assess quality impact on users, products, and business outcomes
  • Proactive in identifying quality gaps and proposing practical improvements
  • Comfortable balancing delivery timelines with quality and compliance expectations
  • Takes clear ownership of quality outcomes for assigned products or components
  • Effectively collaborates across engineering, product management, and domain teams
  • Communicates quality risks and trade‑offs with clarity and confidence
  • Influences teams toward higher quality standards through data, insight, and constructive challenge
