NDT Global in Germany is seeking a Senior Project Manager to drive mechatronic product development projects for internal and external customers, ensuring milestones, quality and budget. You will plan, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage risks, and report progress; experience in R&D PM and bilingual German/English is required; enjoys collaboration across cultures and occasional travel.

Qualifikationen

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Several years of professional experience as a developer in mechatronic products with electronics, firmware and sensor tech.
• Experience in R&D project management; around 3 years, or strong candidates with less experience.
• Mastery of PM methods (plans, risk assessments/FMEA, qualification planning, V-model, agile methods).
• PM certification (PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage.
• Excellent verbal and written German and English.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Confident use of ERP systems (SAP) and MS-Project.

• Plan projects with structure plans, task descriptions, and resource allocation in collaboration with department managers.
• Evaluate time, costs and risks; prepare project requests and launches.
• Manage and control projects with forecast and regular reports.
• Close out projects with handover to finance, operations and customer and complete documentation.
• Communicate with internal and external customers and promote interdisciplinary exchange.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and mediate conflicting goals.
• Guide project team through concept evaluation, design implementation, assembly and verification, and transfer to operations.
• Remove obstacles and facilitate decisions.

Purpose

The Senior project manager's goal is to drive forward projects in a mechatronic product development environment for internal and external customer projects in order to achieve project milestones on time, with good quality, and within budget.

Responsibilities

• Plans projects, including structure plans, task descriptions, and resource allocation in close cooperation with the department managers
• Evaluates time, costs and project risks. Prepares project requests for approval and organizes the successful project launch
• Manages and controls projects, including the provision of project forecast and regular reports
• Closes out projects, including handover to finance, operations and the customer, including complete documentation
• Communicates with internal and external customers and promotes interdisciplinary exchange and communication
• Coordinates cross-functional teams, mediates between various conflicting goals, and escalates appropriately when necessary
• Guides the project team and its individual members through the various project phases with their different approaches (concept evaluation, design implementation, assembly and verification, transfer to operational use)
• Ensures that project obstacles are removed and appropriate and accepted decisions are made

Requirements & Qualifications

• An associated degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related field is required.
• Several years of professional experience as a developer in the field of mechatronic products including electronics, firmware and sensor technologies is required
• Experience in Project Management in the field of R&D is required; ideally around 3 years, but we’re also open to strong candidates with less experience
• Mastery of project management methods (e.g., project plans, open point lists, risk assessments/FMEA, qualification planning, V-model, agile methods, etc.). Project Management Certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Confident use of ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and professional Project Management Software (e.g., MS-Project)

• Familiarity with technical concepts and typical problems in the electrical and mechanical fields
• Strong understanding of business processes, including those beyond development processes
